Parents, Children and the Church
essays and articles
As a member of society Christian parents need to educate their children, and should not leave this office under the responsibility of the church, or any other institution. This charge is solely the parents. If you are missing parents, this task should be transferred to another person who plays this role: grandparents, uncles, or, in the latter case, an institution established by society (orphanage).
- What to do to keep my son in the church? This is a question asked by many Christian parents in this essay.
Those who have small children want formulas to prevent their children do not stray from the church, and they have great kids, who distanced themselves from the church, wishing that God perform a miracle.
What to do?
First, every Christian should be aware that 'the children of the flesh are not children of God.' How? My son, born in a cradle and evangelical / Protestant or not a child of God?
Now if 'son Christian was the son of God', we would agree that all descendants of Abraham are also children of God, but that's not what the Bible teaches.
The apostle Paul in writing to the Christians in Rome, made it clear that being a descendant of Abraham's flesh is not the granting divine sonship "Not that the word of God has failed, because not all who are of Israel are Israelites, not by they are the seed of Abraham are all children " (Romans 9:6 -7).
That is, "... are not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for the seed " (Romans 9:8). Now if the children of Abraham are not children of God, it also follows that the son of a believer is not a child of God.
So anyone who wants to achieve divine sonship must have the same faith of faithful Abraham, namely, that a son of a Christian is the son of God, necessarily must believe the same way as his father believed in the gospel message " Know ye therefore that they which are of faith are sons of Abraham " (Galatians 3:7).
Only those that are generated through the incorruptible seed, which is the word of God are sons of God, or children of Christians are not necessarily children of God.
Secondly, all Christians should be aware that the body of Christ, who is also named the church, not to be confused with human institutions, such as family and church. Being part of a human institution does not make the man belonging to the body of Christ, or saved.
Why the mission of educating children can not be delegated? Because within normal parents are the people who have the best and most trust in the early life of an individual. Based on this essay, trust the institution family becomes a laboratory where all assays to produce a citizen charge is carried out.
Within the family is that you learn what authority and responsibility. Within the family is that you learn and develop human relationships, such as fraternity, friendship, trust, respect, affection, etc..
As parents have the best and most trust, they are also the most suitable to present the gospel of Christ to children during the educational process. Therefore, it is salutary that the parents do not show the children a vengeful and spiteful God. Phrases like: "- Do not do it because Dad does not like the sky! Or - if you do this, God will punish "does not reflect the truth of the gospel and cause a huge disservice to the child's understanding.
