Men's Dress Shoes
Dress shoes sound boring to the everyday person, but this shoe is critical to the business man in his suit everyday. In this day and age of sneakers and tennis shoes, dress shoes for men are not near as popular as many other types of shoes, however you can tell the difference between those who mean business and who are merely looking for style. Dress shoes come in a wide variety of styles and colors and it really depends on what you are looking for when selecting the right dress shoe for you. Dress shoes for men go anywhere from just being casual to being fancy, usually being able to adapt to any occasion.
The dress shoes that people often picture are the normal boring black dress shoes with the small think lace that as a kid we learned to hate. In recent years the dress shoe for men has changed. There is a huge difference in the sole which has undergone many changes. Men's dress shoes are going away from plastic and wooden soles and replacing them with new improved rubber ones, this allows more comfort to the wearer. Today there are many more types of men's dress shoes available, and the wingtips and penny-loafers are making a huge comeback in modern styles.
Today men's dress shoes have been turned into a dress down shoe with some of these shoes being designed as moccasins. The king of men's dress shoes is still the Italian shoe, with the London and New York dress shoe coming in close behind. However, Los Angeles has started coming into the picture itself. As it appears that sneaker and tennis shoes become even more popular, they have been designed with a more dress shoe look to create what they call hybrids. They are looked down upon but they are turning popular and trendy.
We also need to bring into the picture sandals, which seem to be catching the eyes of more people as they partake in more laidback lifestyles in the office. Even though they are not a dress shoe by any means, they are being worn in many more formal settings. This has created some controversy; considering the sandal to be formal footwear, and being worn just as "tribal" fashions unveil. As time goes on it will be interesting to see how the sandal will become incorporated into shoe fashion for women, and see if it will ever make it into men's dress shoes.
It also seems that boots are becoming more popular due to the interest of western music increasing. These dress boots are designed different and made form different leather than regular cowboy boots and has very nice needlework.
There is a wide variety of dress shoes available for dressing up and it all comes down to personal preference to what looks best on you.
