What Furniture Does A Newborn Need?
Best get prepared in advanceā¦
When you have a baby you will be surprised just how little time you have to do anything. A newborn baby demands 100% of your attention at all times and even when they are sleeping you find yourself unable to get away from them either. If you did not know this before you had a child you will find it very difficult to actually get out and buy some key items. This is why this article is going to tell you exactly what furniture you should buy to ensure your baby has everything they need.

Moses Basket

When you bring your baby home for the first time you will need somewhere that is safe to keep them in that is easy to move as well as being comfortable. A basket or a bassinet is perfect for this as they are light and easy to carry around the house and is small enough to make your baby feel secure. Plus you can put it anywhere in the house as it is not as large as a cot but bigger and more comfortable than a car seat.

Cot

The next piece of furniture you need to get is a cot which should do for your child from when they are between 4 and 6 months or when they are able to loft themselves up with their hands. A cot offers a more secure location with high sides to stop them crawling out but with droppable sides for changing and ease of removal.

Toys

Buying things like childrens desks and childrens table and chairs can be a bit premature but if you really want to get them before your baby is actually here go right ahead. This may be something you want to do if you are putting together an entire new room for them and want to make sure everything matches. Although your baby will not need any of this for many months so they are certainly not necessary.

Car Seat

Buying a car seat can be tricky as there are so many safety features and connections to the right vehicle that need to be considered. In an ideal world you could choose your car around the perfect car seat but obviously this isn't always possible. When you know what car seats will fit with your car you may want to pick one that can also be connected to a pushchair. This saves money and also means that you have less stuff to keep in the car.
