SWTOR Guide to the Available Classes
Every online gamer and movie geek seems to be talking about Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR). SWTOR is a massive multi-player online game that is scheduled to be released in 2011. The game takes place in the Star Wars universe hundreds of years before the events of the movies, at a time when the old republic and the evil empire are once again at odds for the destiny of the galaxy. This newest endeavor from the BioWare company is promising a hole host of great features and awesome gameplay.
As with any massive multi-player game, SWTOR will allow the player to customize their character by choosing from a large number of available races (species) and a number of classes. The different SWTOR classes each come with their own weapons and capabilities and are either on the side of good or evil.
On the light side there is the Jedi Knight; capable of wielding a light saber and dealing out force moves from a distance, the Jedi Counselor; who uses a double handed light saber and can heal as well as attack with their force powers, the Republic Trooper; who specializes in long range attacks and uses weapons such as grenades and flame throwers to take out their enemies, and the Star Wars the Old Republic Smuggler; this class is the stealthy kind which advances through the game using blasters and speed.
On the dark side of the SWTOR classes there is the Sith Warrior; who is very much like the Jedi Knight but also uses dark side powers to kill enemies, the SWTOR Sith Inquisitor; who also uses a double handed light saber and has the power to heal, the Imperial Agent; who operates by stealth and uses an array of gadgets to increase their attacks and defenses, and the Bounty Hunter; this class operates using a whole barrage of gadgets including rockets, grenades, flamethrowers and even a jet pack.
Whatever side the player chooses will affect certain game play elements such as the storyline and which SWTOR classes the player can play as. Judging by what people have already seen of the game, SWTOR is shaping up to be another awesome addition to the Star Wars universe.
