Newspaper Scramble: This game is a fun fast paced game involving using newspapers to make balls and is played by creating about twenty four paper balls out of the newspaper and spreading throughout the party area. Use a large location and spread the newspaper balls all over the location to the boundary limit. The object of the game is for the part guests to pick up and toss as many newspaper balls as possible in their designated trash cans (use trash cans like the one Oscar the Grouch calls home). If there are only 2-3 trashcans available then spilt the party guests into team so each team has a trash can to use. On go, the player race to gather the newspaper balls and place them in their trash can. The game ends when time expires or when all the newspaper balls have been collected. The winner is the individual or team who can collected the most newspaper balls.
Trashcan Lid Balance. This game is played by using metal or tin trashcan lids and tennis balls. Split the party guests up into an even number of team or have the players compete individually. The object of the game is to balance the tennis ball on the bottom side of the trashcan lid while holding the handle. Have players navigate themselves around trash cans and other obstacles before returning to the finish line. for teams, when the first layer returns from the course they will then hand off the trashcan lid with the tennis ball to the next player in line. If the ball is dropped, the players must pick it up and place it on the lid before walking or running again. The winning team is the first team to complete the trash can obstacle course.
Trashcan Around the World. Place pictures of Oscar the Grouch on the floor of the party area around the trashcan in the center of the play area. The object of this game is to throw a soft ball or newspaper ball in the trashcan. The only way that players can advance is by making a ball in the trashcan. Each station the player must throw the ball in a different way. A good example of this is to have a station that is a little more difficult than the others like making the guests blindfolded or having to throw with a different hand.
