Heartburn is a common problem for millions of folks. Generally known for the acute pain behind the breastbone, caused when the liquid content of the stomach refluxes into the esophagus. Saliva produced in the mouth is also helpful in neutralize the acid. Try chewing gum to generate saliva. Antacids and baking soda are also useful in neutralizing stomach acids. Keep in mind the risks of too much cure can have the opposite effect. Overdosing can trigger the stomach to compensate by generating even more acid. The result of course will be more heartburn. If you suffer from frequent heartburn you should consult your doctor - pain is your body’s way of telling you something.
