At the top of the list is checking your credit report its free and its easy to accomplish. There are dozens of companies online that will assist you in obtaining a free credit report. Don't feel bad if you are not saving on a regular basis, believe me, you are not alone. January is the month to start and you can begin by saving one dollar a week. You can argue that saving one dollar a week won't add up to much. But if you can manage to save one dollar a week for several months without touching it, you will have accomplished plenty. You will have taught yourself the importance of saving.
Carrying credit card debt from month to month can be a mistake. If you make only minimum payments, it will take you many years to pay off the debt. Therefore it is imperative that you repay your credit card as quickly as possible
Another important factor is making a budget, get your spending under control and maximize every dollar. Investing money is always a wise idea. Investment options include stocks, bonds and mutual funds.
If your resolution this year is to improve your finances or if you just want to celebrate National Financial Month to the fullest. Financial Wellness Month provides a great time to start thinking about your financial future as well as that of your employees.
