Nintendo DS beats Nintendo WII in its sales at US market
It has been confirmed that Nintendo DS is the best-selling game machine in the United States. It has even outsold its counterpart Wii. According to the retailing facts released by NPD group, the 1.53 million elements of hand held DS has been sold compared to 981,000 elements of Wii.
The chief cause for its triumph is it is not only appealing for youngsters but also to their parents and grannies. Also it is greatly cheaper than other consoles. It is around $50 cheaper than its nearby best rival Sony psp.
Another debate is DS is compatible with Nintendo’s prior device Game boy advance. This is particularly attractive to those, who have already had stock of Nintendo games.
Next reason is it was easy for the videogame creators who are familiar with earlier Game boy to change their products to new DS unit. As DS have enough exciting boy applications, it is an immediate success.
In addition, DS has wireless connectivity that allows communicating with Wii as well as other users to contact and play sports. Ds has additional feature of touch screen option in one of the two screens, which makes life easy.
Nintendo expects to finish the year having sold more than 6 million DS consoles, with a total of 15.2 million sold since they were introduced in November 2004.
