Hair Loss And Childbearing

Women are at risk for experiencing hair loss after the birth of a child, and at the start of menopause. There are a few factors to consider to remember if you are a lady who is seeing hair loss. Hair development is greatly connected to our hormonal systems and fluctuations in our hormones can trigger a disruption to our hair growth and loss patterns.
When a woman conceives, her hormones change to accommodate the growing baby, and these same hormones encourage thick, healthy hair because hair does not fall out and regrow at the common rate. This suggests that hair seems thicker and longer than typical. After maternity however, a female's hormones once again change-this time to make nourishment for their child, and during this phase the hair follicles begin to launch the hair shafts quicker than normal, and new hair begins to grow back in. The rate of hair regrowth need to be the same as it was prior to maternity, but it likely seems slower to the female, as she has basically reviewed 9 months without losing hair.
When this occurs, it usually self-corrects in a couple of months, and they will certainly see their normal hair grow back in. Sadly, this isn't always the case, and women can sometimes develop a condition after giving birth, where their hair just does not grow back in. This can be devastating for women who are unprepared for this experience, and having no real answers as to what can be done can be extremely frightening for these women.
Laser therapy is a safe option that many females are exploring, as this does not effect the baby's milk supply, nor cause any undesirable negative side effects. Sometimes, just promoting the hair follicles this way can jump-start the hair, and it will begin again on its own. For some women, a high-dose multivitamin protocol may be beneficial also, and this is often a great place to begin.
If you are a woman experiencing post-pregnancy or post menopausal hair loss symptoms, meeting with a nutritionist and your family health care provider may provide you some solutions to begin you on your way to having the hair you had before you had your baby. If absolutely nothing is found when meeting these people, it may be a good time to meet with a hair transplant physician to discuss your options.
