Bring On The Fun With Great Flag Day Party Games
Flag Day isn't just any holiday. Not long after America declared its independence our flag was selected on June 14, 1777. The American flag has undergone many changes over the centuries, and the flag as we know it now with 13 stripes and 50 stars wasn't adopted until July 4, 1960. However the first American flag was adopted in 1777. Our flag goes by different nicknames, such as "Old Glory," "The Stars and Stripes," and "The Star Spangled Banner." No matter what you call it, it's one of the most recognized symbols in the world. Show your American pride by throwing a Flag Day Party, complete with red, white, and blue Flag Day Party Supplies, great food, and fun games.
Trivia quizzes make great educational party games for children and adults. Divide the group into two groups, Team A and Team B, and take turns asking them questions about the flag with "a, b, and c" answers. What day is Flag Day on the calendar? What president proposed Flag Day? What does an upside down flag on a flagpole mean? Which state was the first to represent Flag Day as a government holiday? There are dozens of questions from easy to hard that can be asked about the American flag.
Kids especially enjoy relay race games and a flag relay race will delight the little guests. Get two small American Flags, they are extremely easy to find. Divide the group into two teams again (or keep them in the same teams) and have them run a relay race using the flags as the batons. The first team to finish running the flag wins.
Let the children try a flag drawing contest or as a twist let the adults do it and make sure they have the right number of "stripes". For kids you can give each one crayons and paper, but adults would probably prefer markers. Let them take as much time as they need or want. Whoever draws the best and most accurate flag is the winner of the contest. You can also have them draw other patriotic symbols, such as an eagle, a U.S coin, or the Statue of Libery.
This patriotic American holiday celebrates an important step in our national identity. Go all out for Flag Day and have fun patriotic Flag Day Party Supplies, tasty food, lively games and People with a love of our country and our flag.
