Everything that is involved today in modern martial arts were once simple traditions that were passed down form master to student or from father to son. Many centuries ago this was all considered a way of life. In the past, the martial arts schools were vastly different from the ones we have available to us now. It is one of the many things that has changed about martial arts throughout history. Many times the sense of responsibility that was placed on the tradition of the arts is gone in our more commercialized settings. While there may have been some considerable advances because martial arts was not under the constraint of the tradition, but do these positive changes really outweigh the negative changes?

You may not think of Thailand as the origin of martial arts styles. From Thailand is one of the Earth's most famous systems. The effective style of Mauy Thai kickboxing is very strongly used in MMA (mixed martial arts) and it has been a large part of the Thai culture for a great number of years. At tournaments, there are group demonstrations that have become expected from the viewers. These demonstrations hold hints of strategies and techniques that were used by armies many years ago. Recently, they have become more like a dance rather than martial arts. This typical form of routine will often have very intricate moves and will also have a great deal of gymnastics become involved. As time goes on and our society evolves along with martial arts, these incredible displays will become more and more accepted in society.

Many benefits can be obtained from practicing and training in these fighting systems and the martial arts. Finding stress relief is one of the most well-known benefits. This is a symptom and problem that is typically overlooked or deemed as unimportant. However, this is a very serious condition which can cause many long term problems throughout a person's life. Numerous amounts of people use fighting systems for relief. It helps release tensions and any other pent up emotions. These activities stretch people to a point that they previously believed they were not capable of going to.

It is challenging for anyone to have to deal with someone who is rude or a person that is aggressively arguementative. Anyone learning martial arts will gain a sense of confidence that can be truly helpful. Now, they will be much more likely to stand up for themselves and not be intimidated. For example, it will be much easier to deal with a person that is not able to control their anger and does not have impulse control. It could also be not having to back down from someone trying to impose their opinion.

There is still a debate among some as to whether the mixed martial arts should be considered a reality system or a sport. The MMA fighters that have been questioned about this debate are very open and explain that they wholeheartedly understand that it is just a sport. These fighters also stated that tehy believe many of teh techniques they know can be useful in real life situations. They claim that it can still be useful in a real fight. Some people, such as Kali fighters, do not agree. They do not believe that you can have reality in your fighting unless you practice with weapons.
