Conclusion:
The TX is by no means perfect, but it’s a big step up from some of Palm’s recent mistakes. It has many of the features that users have been asking for, and at a very reasonable price. Compared to its predecessor, the T5, the TX is far superior for the money, despite minimal downgrades in memory and processor speed. If you’re a Palm user who’s been hanging on to their Tungsten T3 because of the hit-and-miss nature of Palm’s high-end models, you may have just found a reason to upgrade. Great accessories like a portable, folding keyboard make working on your business documents even easier.
Need driving directions? Get turn-by-turn voice-guided directions with the Palm GPS Navigator. Whatever you’re into, you’ll find a software application you can use among the thousands made for the Palm OS platform. The built-in expansion card slot accepts Multimedia Card, SD and SDIO formats, so you can do things like read eBooks, play games, or plug in a language translator. It grows as your needs do, too. Add a 2GB expansion card and take even more songs, videos, and documents wherever you go. Despite a few design problems, the style and build of the TX is well built, feels good in the hand, and it’s hard to argue with black. The flaring on the bottom could be a little more subtle for my taste, but it still holds well.
