The Astonishing Power of Feelings

by Joy Obihara

Feeling is the internal resource that we all have within us, which allows us to exert energy in different ways.

For example, I may ask you how you feel about a particular issue or product or a place and your response would be triggered by the way you think of it, and the way you see it mentally, perhaps also based on personal experiences.

The action of Feeling is so powerful that it affects us in different ways, and so it's important that we watch our feelings.

For example a feeling of fear, insecurity, lack of confidence, sadness, etc all need to be controlled as these have negative effect on the body.

Become aware of feelings in your daily life, and as much as possible control the feelings that make you unresourceful.

The following examples show various levels of feedings and the expressions that may be linked with the internal representation that one experiences at the time.

Note that these are examples, but they give you an overview on the power of feedings.

"I am feeling unsure" can be changed to "I feel a need to ask more questions about this" (which allows you to plan your next action and puts you in control, so consciously, you are aware, you know you have to do something, and you're in charge).

"I feel upset" can be changed to "I feel unresourceful and need to work things out"

"I feel afraid" can be changed to "I feel a need to understand why I am afraid, I may need to engage a counsellor or further help".

"I feel strange, this just isn't for me "can be changed to "I have decided this is not for me", again this gives you the feeling of control.

You see, these are only examples but rephrasing feelings will help you to become more resourceful in taking the next step or action towards solving issues at hand.

More resourceful feelings would be statements like the following.

"I feel fantastic" "I feel really good about this" "I feel positive and energetic" "I'm really looking forward to this" "I feel great about my new job" "I feel challenged about my new role"

So, how can you use Feelings to attract your desires?

Okay, take a pen and a piece of paper now and jot down 10 things you're grateful for, and when you can spare 10 to 15 minutes in a quiet room, where you'll not be disturbed, go over your list, and allow the feeling of gratitude to really sink in as you go over each item on your list.

Now, choose one major priority area in your life that you'd like to focus your resourceful feelings on, and let your inner senses delve deeply into your DESIRES in this particular area of your life.

Feel the feelings of having achieved it, see what you see, mentally visualize it, you can make this achievement a brighter experience in your mind, with daylight or brighter lights, you can also dim the light a little (for example, if it's a romantic experience), is there any sound that's important? just let the feelings suit whatever you want it be at this particular moment.

Give yourself time to really bask in those feelings for about five minutes until you really feel that this is a desire you'd drive to achieve. Energize it with four deep breaths, and when you're done, say thank you to your subconscious mind. Take the next step of writing down your immediate action points that spring to mind following your new resourceful experience towards achieving this desire.

As you do this repeatedly, you'd be amazed, over time that you'll be drawing yourself closer and closer to your hearts desires.

And that in a nutshell is the Astonishing and Resourceful Power of Feelings.
