Homemade Mainline Cell Robin Red Boilie Recipe Secrets And Bird Food Ingredients For Big Fish!

by Tim Richardson

Robin Red is one of the most successful bait additives in carp fishing history. Many of the most amazing carp captures involved the legendary carp bait additive called Robin Red! What many anglers don’t know about it is how potent it really is and how to use it in their boilies and other baits to catch more big fish! Read on now and find out more!

Mainline Cell can be improved upon and diversified in many ways by using bird food additives and ingredients. All you need do is experiment and use your imagination! Robin Red is not just a powdered additive but a liquid concentrate too! Using these two forms together in any bait (especially if your boilie is based primarily on carbohydrate ingredients,) will work wonders and really increase the potency of your bait on a multitude of levels!

Robin Red is a bird food originally designed as a nutritional and colour-enhancing supplement for birds such as canaries. In the real days of carp bait pioneering anglers such as Rod Hutchinson and Colin Booker among many others applied bird food nutrient and other factors within their baits experimenting to see how carp would respond to their individual and combined components, and the results were devastating! But the real pioneering days are not over!

The fact is that you are a bait pioneer in just the same way as all those in the past and you can genuinely create completely unique homemade baits just as the legendary names of the past have done, which shaped the present readymade carp bait industry. You can equal if not defeat the vast majority of readymade carp baits if you develop your knowledge and experience of carp and understand far more how to trigger true feeding responses!

To achieve such goals you simply need to try out your new versions of baits on easy fish, and fish against control bait such as Mainline Cell. With Robin Red in your homemade baits at a rate of 300 grams per kilogram of base mix, plus using liquid Robin Red as part of your liquid blend you really can harness the power of all the bioactive and other factors within Robin Red!

Any boilie can be enhanced using robin Red in dry or liquid form even if you are using a fish or yeast or liver or marine or fish or seed or vegetable protein or milk protein type of base etc! Mainline Cell can easily be improved and diversified using such ingredients alongside others such as other bird food additives, alternative forms of hydrolysed and enzyme-treated proteins, unusual enhancers and palatant flavour powders etc!

Within Robin Red is a base of sugars which look as close to a form of nutritionally-beneficial fine brown molasses sugar as is possible! Intrinsic to such sugars is a natural true feeding trigger named betaine, which some would call analogous to an amino acid, but however betaine is described, it is extremely powerful as a true feeding trigger in the form of pure molasses meal, or as a hydrochloride or pure form betaine in anhydrous form.

One of the reasons why Robin Red is so successful is due to the betaine content and the vitamin and mineral and pigments contents of this additive. It is highly water-soluble even in low water temperatures which means that it works exceptionally well in summer or winter and is ideal in instant attractor baits or in so-called food baits.

Robin Red betaine as contained in the sugars may represent over 1 percent total weight of Robin Red or more. Aquaculture feed designers in the UK and Holland concur with me that even in a 1 percent rate glycine form betaine improves feeding of fish including carp, significantly. Many anglers use perhaps 50 grams or 100 grams of robin Red in their boilies. However if you use it as far higher levels then your results will improve significantly by comparison!

The soluble components of Robin Red really suck water into boilies so making your baits far more functionally effective in any temperature range. As the sugars and chilli or paprika etc within the Robin Red leak out these carry with them all the other components in your bait. These may include the soluble parts of milk powders, soya, fish meal and fish proteins, marine proteins, yeasts, liver, fruit powders, palatants, powdered and liquid sweeteners and natural enhancers such as forms of lactose, semi-emulsified oils, bulk fish or tiger nuts oils and so on!

Robin Red is also available as Robin Orange, Robin Green and Robin Gold, each having uniquely diversifying nutritionally-stimulating benefits within your baits! A range of related bird food products are historically used alongside Robin Red, but it is totally up to you what your aims are in the actual design of your baits and your budgetary requirements!

Among other bird food ingredients used with huge success world wide include: Haith’s CLO, Nectarblend, egg biscuit, Red Factor and PTX.

Prosecto Insectivorous, has a lower fish protein content than it used to and this fact is a perfect example of how you can defeat readymade baits. Due to rising process most bait companies have cut back on the protein contents of their baits. This dramatically impacts upon the feed-triggering potential of their baits since a vast amount of stimulation ultimately comes from carp baits containing an excess of free-form soluble amino acids.

This is where your homemade baits really do have an edge where you can find out more and very seriously optimise and truly maximise your baits in terms of true feeding trigger levels! Robin Red is legendary for its pigmenting effects and its chilli content!

Although fish are cold-blooded there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that chilli and paprika oleoresin thermogenic impacts boost fish metabolism in all temperatures! This includes even the lowest of all temperatures in encouraging cells to release energy and encourage movement and fish feeding leading to unusually successful catches, even in the depths of winter!

The open texture and high digestibility of bird food bait ingredients and additives at this time of year and in summer really explain so much about Robin Red and bird food bait success! Roasted wheatgerm is a really significant ingredient in winter baits so use it at for example 50 grams within your winter mixes to dramatically improve your free bait digestion to increase your numbers of takes!

(I teach these and many other vital aspects and deeper principles in my 1 to 1 personal one day bait tuition intensive course; covering all aspects of new enzyme-active, probiotic baits beyond the food bait concepts of decades ago!)

Chilli oleoresin is a long-range protein feeding trigger in effect. It is released slowly as baits leach out more and more as the baits hydrate more and more. One tip is to increase this leaching by over-loading your free baits and hook baits using CC Moore Red Venom which as a CC Moore consultant I know is one of the most significant red pigments in carp fishing, mixed with hemp oil. Simply blend Red Venom with liquid Robin Red!

Make this blend approximately a quarter to a third of your total bait liquids and experiment with hydrolysed and enzyme-treated liquid foods alongside this. You will find some extraordinary homemade bait breakthroughs in doing this, just for starters!
