Success Weight Loss With Gastric Ballooning
Success Weight Loss
So many of us struggle with our weight- we have experimented with every diet that we have run across only to gain back the weight that we lost, plus a few extra pounds. We have exercise equipment in the basement just gathering dust and good intentions. And still we search for that one thing that will give us the extra push that we need to achieve and maintain success weight loss- for our health as well as our egos. Gastric ballooning just may be that thing- the leg up needed to achieve and maintain success weight loss. Gastric ballooning is a non-surgical procedure whereby a deflated balloon is inserted into the stomach, through the mouth. Once the balloon is in place it is filled with sterile water via a catheter, which is then removed. The balloon is self-sealing and once filled is too large to leave the stomach. The balloon occupies space in the stomach and allows the patient to feel fuller when eating smaller portions and instills a valuable lesson about portion control. Once you are accustomed to eating smaller amounts of food and feeling full you will create the habit so that even once the balloon is removed you will feel satisfied with smaller portions. This along with nutritional education and training in behaviour modification can bring you closer to success weight loss. Success weight loss will be sustained only when changes are made to daily habits. We all have triggers which cause us to eat. In order to achieve success weight loss we must recognize our own triggers and then modify the behaviour that we associate with the. Some of those prompts may include: • Watching tv • Being home alone • The kids finally being in bed • Stress • Nervousness • Anxiety • Eating while you cook • A difficult mother-in-law The list will be different for each individual but in each case the behaviour must be modified or changed if success weight loss is the objective. New habits leading to success weight loss will be formed only by shear repetition. So, for example, instead of eating while you watch tv try writing a letter, cross-stitching, making a to-do list, or flipping through photo albums- anything that will keep your hands and your mind busy. Soon a new habit will form and you will be one step closer to success weight loss. The gastric balloon is only temporary- it will be removed after six months. In those six months it will provide a kick-start to a healthier lifestyle by supporting better eating habits and the chance to modify behaviour. Gastric Ballooning may just be just the stepping stone you need to create those new habits that will lead you to success weight loss.
