The Internet has changed. People are tired of reading serious news, articles, and opinions. They need fun, real fun, which opens up a new web niche - fun content. A certain subculture is growing in fun sites, where fun is the most important think!

The fun and gossip websites are in your Facebook and Twitter feed and deliver tones of funny images and videos each day. Users are unwittingly wasting hours on those sites, where humor ranges from the most crazy and ridiculous photos to surprisingly informative articles, useful finding and even impressive and unconventional art pieces. All the key elements of online humor are present - from photos of cute animals and wild nature to popular memes to jokes about celebrities. Popular services like 9Gag, Pinterest, Tumblr.

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web like weddings, home decoration, and recipes.

Tumblr, on the other hand, is a blogging site that is primarily image-based, where users post original or found photos, art, music and blogs.

However, neither gets the same charm as the funny 9gag, which is by no means revolutionary in nature. It takes cues from a number of older sites. 9gag is a site where users can publish, collect and share funny things. Funs may be videos, drawings, modified images, or videos. Once registered, the user is sent to their homepage with recent funny postings. Any post may be shared, commented on, or liked with one click. The site allows immediate sharing. It is made for entertainment. It is simple and user-friendly. 9gag is popular with the ease with which photos on the site are shared on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.

Fun sites have also an added value for other websites, which get more traffic when user clicks on an image or article link and gets redirected to the original source. This opportunity is even bigger if you are a blogger. Bloggers need platforms where people are constantly looking for great materials to read and pictures to see. Visitors on fun websites have only one interest and that is - finding and reading informative articles, images and videos. This could drive huge traffic to your website in minutes!

But, be careful! Choosing to visit and read all those fun content is a big commitment for you as a fan - in the form of hours and hours of free time. Sounds like fun, right?
