HONOLULU - www.hawaiiselfstorage.net- Hawaii Self Storage (HSS) today announced the company is accepting applications for their college scholarship program. HSS will offer 10 qualified Oahu public high school students $1,000 scholarships renewable annually for up to $4,000 toward their college education. Deadline for applications is February 15, 2007. Scholarships are available to students in high schools located near Hawaii Self Storage's Salt Lake, Pearl City and just-opened Kaimuki location. Eligible students can receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship for a maximum of two years toward an associate degree and up to four years for a bachelor's degree. To date, Hawaii Self Storage has awarded $68,000 through 17 scholarships in the past two years. To qualify for the scholarship, students must be graduating seniors from one of the following public high schools: Aiea, Farrington, Pearl City, Kaimuki, Kalani, Kapolei, Mililani, Moanalua, Radford or Waipahu. Students also must be Hawaii residents formally accepted into or enrolled in a recognized degree program at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education and be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credits per semester or the minimum number of credits required by the degree program to apply. To renew the scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 each year. "We are very happy to offer this scholarship program to Hawaii students so they can reach their educational goals," said Hawaii Self Storage's Facility Manager and Scholarship Coordinator Shaun Salvador. "Hawaii Self Storage, as a locally owned and community-minded business, understands the importance of educating Hawaii students and we will remain committed to providing the financial resources needed for students to develop into future community leaders." All interested and eligible students must complete and submit the required application form and essay to Hawaii Self Storage by February 15, 2007.
