Portable Generators--A Boon To Civilization

Portable generators have been a boon to civilization. They are used for lighting up power outages, getting electricity to a construction site, job sites, at home, for lawn and patio, for outdoor events and a host of other reasons. Whether it be a hurricane, an ice storm, tornado or other severe weather, these generators are a number one backup for any disaster. Rather than do it yourself, It is probably best to have a professional install your generator in order to assure that it is in good working order and that it will be able to pass any local inspections that may be required.
There are three major brands of such generators—Generac, Onan and Kohler.
A Generac unit is a rugged device that lets you generate electricity anywhere you go. It can handle the dusty environment of job sites, the rustic environment of a cabin in the woods or the noisy environment of a tailgate party.
As with any electrical generator, it does require fuel to run properly. Gasoline models provide the highest reliability with the ready availability of fuel. Green solar operated models can also work well for someone who only needs to work in the daytime. Although people expect to pay more money for a high quality product, Generac prices are competitive with other major brands.
Onan portable generators are easy to use and are quite dependable. The generators come in all different sizes, depending upon the job you want to use them for. They can be used for camp sites, ice-fishing, power tools and backup energy. The Onan generators are small and convenient and come with or without mobile wheels.
Kohler portables can be used for almost any task. They come with a guarantee to be strong and to last for years. The Kohler generators use natural gas or LP. They have industrial, marine, residential, mobile and rental models.
Following are some representative prices of various portable generators:
1. Generac 5747 XG800E 10,000 Watt 410cc - $1,247.00 2. Generac 5263 GP6500 8,000 Watt 389cc - $744.00 3. Onan Marquis Gold RV Generator 5500 - $4299.99 4. One of the most difficult steps in selecting a new generator after determining how much a person wants to pay is determining how many volts are needed. Each of these portable generators are built tough and made to be durable.
