For our first big tutorial we decided that iPod would be the subject to attack in full force. Not only are they extremely popular, but they are quite handy. When the Apple iPod 5G first came out there were many companies quick to release products to convert your current video collection into an iPod compatible format. Unfortunately, none of these solutions were free. This has all but changed as us cheapskates finally have a solution to our iPod Video Conversion problem, and might I add it is quite thrifty:Videora iPod ConverterVideora iPod Converter is a free video conversion application developed by the creators of Videora. It allows you to convert your regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into the proper video format that your iPod understands.Together, just you and I, we will go through the basic steps needed to take any video file you may have and get it to run on your iPod. I have labeled the options we will be using below (check each corresponding number) and for extra added effect put a red X over the things we will not be using. 1. One-Click Profile: This is where we set the quality and in essence determine the file size of the video after we convert it. You will actually need to decide what you want this to be on your own. The higher the kbps, the larger the file but also the better the quality. If you do not know what any of this is, simply leave it as it is, the default setting will give you a good combination of quality and moderate file size. 2. Output Videos to: When setting this up merely choose the directory you want the finished goods to be saved in. Perhaps you have a folder you like to keep all of your movies in? That would be a perfect choice. 3. Device Drive: Don't let this one confuse you, it is the directory Videora will initially open up when you want to convert a video. Leave it as is or make it your default video folder.See how easy that was? Now of course, Videora iPod Converter has many more advanced options for those that wish to tweak, but we will not need to go into those options for a simple video conversion. Converting your Video File This part is a lot easier than you might think.
