Some Requests Often Made By A Printing Company
A printing company is the one who receives your printing orders and gets to receive the special requests and specifications associated with it. It is of high importance that you communicate these special requests to your commercial printer to make sure it will be taken cared of or for you to know in advance whether they would be able to accommodate it or not. Most of the time, your printer will be kind enough to answer to your needs through the different printing services they offer. Competition is tough in this kind of business and every printer out there know that the more they would be able to cater to your demands, the more edge they would have over other businesses.
On the other hand, every commercial printer out there has their own special requests to every customer as well. Here are the common ones.
1. Highest resolution of photo – most printers would request for you to provide them photographs and arts which resolution are of the highest quality. This is because it would be easy for them to work with these kinds of materials. If you want your photos to appear really good, give in to their request and provide them with high-resolution photos. This is especially significant if you are requesting to print big advertising materials such as banners and tarpaulins for example.
2. Follow up requests – there is a big time commercial printing company who is handling multiple printing jobs at a time. You can only imagine how busy they can get. Thus, they would often request for you to do the follow-up regarding your orders from time to time so you can get an update as to the progress of your orders.
3. Send file types they can easily access – there are printers, especially the not so big ones who would specify for you to send your layout or other files on a format that they can read. Most often, these file types are in JPEG or in PDF format. With printers who have been in the business for long, they usually have access to almost any format or type of file, so you won’t have a problem with them. But if the printer of your choice makes this special request, make sure you do comply because it is like your way of helping them do the job way easier.
4. CMYK colors – printers would often request for you to see to it that the color of your files are set to CMYK format. If your files are saved in RGB format, switch it to CYMK to make sure you wouldn’t have any problems with it in the final output. This is because CMYK color is the format used by almost any printer out there.
5. Enough time to do the job – printers would love to have enough time to work on every printing project especially if they don’t have a lot of manpower. So, most often, they are the ones who set a deadline as to the time of delivery of the final output. They might also consider as to when you would need the materials.
6. Extra charge for rush jobs – printers would usually ask you to pay an additional charge for printing jobs that need to be done as soon as possible. This is because they already have schedules and timelines based on which printing order came first. But, if you really demand for them to do your jobs within a certain short period of time, they would usually request for you to make an additional payment in exchange for it.
Your commercial printing company will be happy to accommodate your printing requirements. However, most of the time, the commercial printer of your choice also have some special requests which are often simple and small ones and are quite easy to do just to ensure that they would be able to complete the job the best way possible.
