Bring Back The Lost Art of Romance In Just a Few Easy Steps

Who says that chivalry is dead? Well- Right about now.. I'm saying it. I know somewhere out there, there is a romantic man just waiting to come out in all of you. Just waiting for the right time, the right girl. Gentlemen, it's time to step up, step out and show your softer side. So, where to start. Before we get into actual steps I want to pay a little homage to a tiny little word that has huge repercussions. This four letter word is a monster to the female race and it is one trait that will take the zap right out of of romance. And that word is 'fast'. Everything in the 2000 millennium is fast. We eat fast food, we buy the 3g phone and then we upgrade to the 4g phone- we buy fast computers and fast cars. But men, when it comes to what a woman wants 'fast' is not the word. In fact, contrary to popular belief, fast is a turn off.

Moving too quickly diminishes a woman's desire for a man. It spells out to her that she is just a fleeting moment and not the real deal. It makes her feel uncomfortable and 'stress' to go into something she may not be prepared for. The last thing a woman wants to feel is 'stress' and 'pressure'. Moving too fast spells out desperation as well. Nothing more sexy than a desperate man, right? Wrong!! It's not sexy to be pushed or manipulated and it will come back to haunt you every time. A sincere man waits until she is ready and cares about winning the woman of his desire. If you've found or are even looking for Mrs. Right, you'll become the man (or even woman) that romances. Women can do these things also, but as it should be, it's up to the man to take the lead. Here are a few tips to help you take hold of the reins of romance and never look back.

Be Transparent- A pent up wall of secrets implies a man whom has much to hide. Stern rigidness also implies a man that is not really interested in winning you. Romance is about winning a gal's heart. If it's not her heart your after, than romance will be misleading. If a woman has to pull information out of you, or speak more to cover the silence, then things aren't going very well. There is nothing more refreshing than a man who is honest about his feelings, and a woman wants to hear about your dreams, ambitions and failures. The more you open up, the more interesting we find you.

Be Spontaneous- Slip a note that simply says, "Meet me by the pool at 6". Give her a date and a time and tell her to make no plans. Give her no details and plan a night out or a short trip. Wake her up to breakfast in bed. Put her to sleep with soft music (sing to her) no matter how bad you think you are, we will love it! Bring her lunch while she's working. Agree to go somewhere you know she wants you to go. Buy her sexy lingerie. Men, we love surprises- we love them, we love them, we love them. Also, it is predictable that you want to sleep with us. It is sponatneous for you to be romantic, yet modest. Keep your clothes on, we will be shocked!

Listen/Show True Interest- There's more to simply listening than meets the eye to this one. You may think you know who's sitting across from you at the table. However, if you ask the right questions and pay attention to the answers, you may discover a world of fascination and intrigue that you never even knew existed in her. Not only will you find her more interesting, but she will find you irresistible for being so attentive. The woman is starving for an attentive man in this generation. And she will see a man who cares about more than getting to the 'next base' as irresistable. We appreciate this more than we can even say.

Send Her Flowers- I know, it sounds cliche'. But men, it's quite a rare thing for a woman to receive flowers these days. Recently, I was talking with a group of girl friends and we all agreed, this display of romance is growing more and more distinct by the day. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have received flowers (that I could remember) and I'm no spring chicken. We especially like to receive flowers in public places like at work or in front of our friends. It shows us your not only interested in brightening our day, but that you want everyone to know how you feel about us. And we absolutely love this.

Public Displays of Affection- So she's not used to a man getting frisky with her in line at McDonald's. Maybe she's never had a real man before you. Trust me when I say this, when you ignore your friends to walk over to us at a party and lay one on us, it makes us leap for joy. Or maybe your in a crowded place where their are tons of beautiful women- yet you can't take your eyes (or hands) off of her. You act as though she's the only girl in the room. This is ridiculously romantic to us. We love it. It makes us feel secure, beautiful and important.. to YOU. It's exiting and tacky and if a girl is really into you, she'll love every second of it!

Tells You 'WHY' He loves You- I love you. We've heard that before. It's nice. But try this- 'Have I ever told you why I love you'? And just start naming everything you can think of that makes you crazy about HER. I can tell you, we know how he feels about his ex, his boss, his friends, his mom but we don't always know how you really feel about us.

Write Letters- This should be number one. I can't tell you when is the last time I received a letter from a man. And everyone I asked said they had never received one. I remember being in grade school and boys would sneak letters into my desk or a wonderful young love sending me letters anytime we had to go more than a few days without seeing each other. He talked about everything, his feelings his thoughts. it was beautiful. Hand written words are a sure sign your playing to win. We love thoughtfulness. We love it. I have never thrown a letter away. That is how much I appreciate it. It's not all about money guys. Poetry.... we just eat it up! Draw us a picture and you are suddenly Renoir, no matter how awful your drawing is.

Take the Pressure Off- In the beginning, women feel just as much pressure to say and do the right things as the men do. We may appear calm on the outside, but deep down, we are shaking in our boots. If you chooses a date that is all about conversation or performance (such as dancing), she secretly worries that your sizing her up. But if you take her to a concert, play, museum or movie- then the focus is not all on her and that gives her room to relax and just enjoy her time with you. It is also very romantic to show her that you are not just taking her for drinks- because we are used to that. No dinner, no play or concert. Just drinks. Not romantic in any way.

Show Interest in Meeting Her Friends/Family- We want you to be interested. We love it when you tell us that your interested in meeting our family and friends because it tells us you are interested in becoming a part of our life. How you treat us in the company of others says more to us than how you treat us when we are alone. We all want the man, who when you walk into the room of her friends, they all smile and say, 'he's the one for her'.

Notice none of these tips really mentioned sex, performance or money. I mention this in closing because it is blatently, painfully evident that these notions appear to be at the forefront of every man's mind these days. Nothing in this article is about fast cars, expensive watches or big houses. No, those things are important for a girl who doesn't want romance or love, she just wants a care giver. A real woman wants love and a real man will win her heart by being creative with romance.
