Anantnag – Abode of Lakes and Springs

Anantnag is a district in the southern sector of Jehlum Valley. The district is famous for its rejuvenating climate, lofty mountains and the melodious flow of sweet waters of its springs and streams. Pleasant climate and the natural waterfall attracts most of the visitors. Nagabal is another famous Hindu religious center in Anantnag. Several holy temples and springs can be seen in the place. Kheer Bhawani Temple is a sacred temple at the sacred spring at Tula Mula village. It is said that on the eighth day of the full moon in the month of May the goddess changes the color of the spring’s waters. The Anantnag district is not only the rice bowl of the Valley, it is equally rich in landscape. The nature has been generous in gifting the district with places of unparallel beauty.
