Your dog could have been killed today!

I slammed on my brakes today to avoid hitting a golden retriever puppy standing in the middle of the road. I found the dog's owner and it turns out they had a fenced yard - but their dog was always managing to find a way out by escaping through the gate or digging under the fence. Its not the first time I almost hit a dog and its probably happened to you. Even worse, the odds are your dog has almost been hit before too.Check out these recent news headlines: "Dog Who Saved Girl Killed By Car", "Veteran Police Dog Killed By Car", "Man Hit By Car Was Trying To Save Dog", "Former First Dog Buddy Clinton Killed By Car"It is easy to prevent this from happening to your dog. Modern technology allows for underground electric dog fences that can keep your family pets confined to your property at all times without building an ugly fence, kennel, or an inhumane tie-out. The electric dog fence system is based on a special collar that receives radio signals from a wire buried in the ground or along the base line of a traditional fence or building. The ends of the wire are fixed to a transmitter which is usually placed inside your garage or basement. The collar will give a warning beep when the dog gets near the boundary of the electric dog fence - and will administer a mild static shock if they cross the dog fence barrier. The right electric dog fence provides freedom for your dog to run and play, but stay safely in the areas you decide are proper dog areas. If you are unwilling to take these simple measures to keep your dog alive, frankly your dog may be better off living with someone who will ensure his safety. Please do the right thing for your dog. Take effective measures to insure that your dog will not die unnecessarily under the wheels of a car.
