Losing Weight Is Not Rocket Science.

by Joseph Camerlin

The ability to lose weight is not a difficult thing to do. A person can lose weight and keep it off by simply knowing and controlling what they put into their mouth.

What you need vs. what you take in.

It is actually a simple equation, check it out. The average woman requires about 2,000 calories a day intake and the average man around 2,500 calories a day. Remember, this an average number, it may be a more or less depending on your lifestyle, age, gender and activity level. But generally, anymore than the daily value and guess what? Your body will store the excess as fat.

Ok, what do I do next?

First, you need to know what you are putting into your body now. The easiest way to do this is to keep a journal of everything eat and drink for 2 weeks. This sounds yukkie, but it really isn't. Get a small pocket size pad and keep it with you at all times. Every time you eat something, write it down with the portion size and how many calories it contains. If you don't know the calorie content you can look that up later when you have the time.

At the end of the day add up all the calories and you will be "shocked" at how many calories you may have consumed.

Great, now I know I eat 4,500 calories a day and it should be 2,000 what next?

Like in any problem, the solution can be simple if you know all the facts. You know what your daily allowance is, you know what you are actually putting in, and you know from your journal, what foods are high in the calorie count.

This is where your desire to lose weight should be greater than your desire to eat anything put in front of you. It is entirely up to you to start cutting out or reducing the foods that are causing you to tip the scale. Once you disciplne yourself to eat modest portions and eliminate the junk, it will become second nature to you.

How do you know this works?

I know this works because lost over 25 pounds by doing exactly what I said above, and I kept this weight off for over 4 years now. And another thing, I don't even exercise, I sit in front of a computer all day and when I get home, I relax. How awesome is that!

One more tip.

This is key to helping you lose weight and that is to drink a lot of water. You should drink 64 ounces of water a day and if you are over-weight an additional 8 ounces for every 25 pounds. Researchers say that the water should be cold because it will be absorded quicker into the body. Also, soda, coffee, tea and flavored water doesn't count. Drink plain, clear, cold, water.

As Always.....

Let me remind you that before you start any diet or exercise program, you should consult your doctor forst for their advice. There is not one diet or exercise program that fits all people.
