5 Easy Ways to Fill Autoresponders With Effective Content
Here are several specific ways you can fill your autoresponders with content you may already have, or with content you can easily get. This will help make you interesting to prospects, establish you as an authority with customers, and bring in new and additional sales.
Don't worry. These five ways are tried and true having evolved over the years as real winners for ecommerce.
1) Take your long sales letter and divide it up into shorter parts. 180 words is plenty for an autoresponder message. Often you can fill up a number of messages simply by using the longer sales letter you have on hand. Use the sales letter introduction for the first message, discussion of the features for the next few messages, the customer testimonials for the next, and the guarantee and bonuses for another message.
2) Create a short email course. Write some instructions on how to do something. It might be ways to use your product. Or how to know when a prospect needs your service. You don't have to be a great writer, just get your instructions down on paper (or, in this case, word processor.)
I once used several how-to articles I had written for an "email course." Each autoresponder message was an article with a plug for my services at the end. I put the signup form on my site. Over a period of 2 years the list of people subscribing reached 15,000.
3) Fill your autoresponder with issues of your own newsletter. Include some helpful short articles (get them from one of the many article directories), some news about your business, and answers to common questions. Set your newsletter to go out once each week or twice per month.
4) Special offers just for YOU! Customers love this. Pick out a product or service and offer it at a special discount or with an enhanced option. Have your autoresponder series deliver these special offers over time.
5) Upsell for greater profits! Right after a customer places an order, have your autoresponder send them a sales pitch for an additional purchase. "Now that you own those beautiful fish, you need a fish tank!"
At the end of the day your autoresponders are doing the one thing that always leads to more sales -- they're following up with customers and prospects, staying with customers until they buy.
You also are building your email list. And that's one of the true secrets to making money online and off for years to come.
