Appearence, Behavior, and Attitude: Best Practice For The Exhibition Stand

by Jamie Simpson

Appearance Counts For The Exhibition Stand

Imagine an haute couture fashion show where models prance down the runway in tattered rags? This is an example of how important appearance is for exhibition stands. Part of attracting people to an exhibit is the appearance of exhibitors. Exhibitors should have that "certain something" that magnetizes the patrons from across the room. Avoid doleful colors and consider which colors would catch your eye in a room with a few hundred patrons. Color scientists confirm that certain colors do affect the psyche and neatness does count. A slovenly exhibitor won't inspire patrons to peruse your table's offerings.

Behavior And Attitude Practice Makes Perfect

When it comes to behavior and attitude for the exhibition stand, it might be helpful to imagine the event as opening night of a Broadway Show. Success depends on behavior and attitude whether patrons are interested in your offering or not. If they are, behavior and attitude will only add to the value of your interactive response to their interest. If they aren't displaying enthusiasm, there can be a number of reasons. However, this shouldn't diminish an opportunity to be at your exhibitor's best so that the disinterest may be reactivated at a later time.

Exhibition Stands Practice Makes Perfect

The ability to remain fresh for a number of hours can often be a problem. That's why scripts can be a big help. Set forth at least two or three possible scripts for the duration of the exhibit so that presentations don't become stale or begin to sound repetitious. Exhibition stands should also be well coordinated for maximum traffic. Fumbling around an exhibit for crucial information can be a major faux pas from the standpoint of smooth, free-flowing presentation. This is easily worked out prior to the event.

Nothing Is More Contagious Than Enthusiasm

Attracting traffic to an exhibit is important. Holding the attention of patrons is the real difficulty. Nothing is more contagious than enthusiasm as the saying goes. If your presentation drones on and on endlessly, it's a sure bet that the traffic to your exhibit will disappear quickly. Take a good look at your script before you attempt the presentation. Look for keywords that require enthusiastic emphasis. Choose those keywords carefully and sparsely. Take your cues from the keywords used most often in regular marketing content. Give these keywords a little help with enthusiastic emphasis and patrons will remember them more easily.

Exhibition Stands And Exhibitors

If there is one thing most exhibitors miss when setting up their exhibition stands, it's most likely how well the location will serve the exhibitors. Although it would be great to be the first exhibit stand at the entrance or the last at the exit, being sandwiched between a few dozen other exhibit stands has its value. It's an opportunity to make your exhibit stand a focal point that ranks higher in visibility simply because planning and design makes it so. Coordinate exhibit stands with exhibitors and success is imminent.
