Becoming A Certified Nursing Assistant
The post of a certified nursing assistant is the first step of the ladder in the career of nursing profession. Nursing assistant's primary duty is to help the patients with their basic activities; it is their duty to help the patient with washing, bathing, feeding and many other similar activities. A certified nursing assistant also listen to patient's complaints and try to solve them, these nurse stay in touch with the patient more than any other hospital staff so they get to know patient, much better. They get to know about some of the happy and sad moments of the patient.
It is advised that before deciding to join the profession of nursing, you should work in a nursing home voluntarily and do some cna training, so that you can get a better idea of what it is to be a certified nursing assistant. If you are looking for a job that has the same kind of work every day then this profession is not for you as every time you go to your work, you get to deal with a new scenario. Profession of nursing demands a very loving and caring nature. You have to be very mature and strong hearted to be in this profession.
Working as a nurse in hospitals and nursing homes can be very different. If you are working in nursing homes you will be dealing with elderly citizens. These are the people who have been left alone and the people who they have served during all their lives do not bother much about them, so they would be annoyed with their lives, they have actually lived their lives and do not want to live anymore and they are just waiting to die, therefore a nurse tries to motivate them that the life is not over and they can still live happily. Moreover they are very aged people so they would need somebody's help to perform their activities. You will have to help them in such a manner that they do not feel that you are doing it as a job or just for money rather they should feel that you really care about them so you will have to treat them as your own grandfather or grandmother. This will not only make them happy but you will also enjoy your work and spend time with them.
If you are working in a hospital you will be dealing with some young and old people. Sometimes you will get to face some badly injured people or you may get some badly burned people to deal with, this sometimes gets very difficult to handle. The profession of nursing has always been rewarding and when you serve humanity it will give the satisfaction that no other profession can give. Apart from this satisfaction, you get a very high pay scale to cater your financial problems. If you want to become a nurse you can start your career after a training of few weeks, and this training is not expensive and some nursing offers it even for free.
