Top 10 ways of getting free links to your site

Links are useful for two reasons. One: They themselves drive traffic, Two: they help you appear in search engines.In other words, they give you traffic. Traffic is VERY useful, for obvious reasons.In no particular order:1: Submit to directories. Espescially high PR directories. This alone can get you some PR 5 links. Be sure to submit to DMOZ. You might get lucky.2: Post in forums. This won't usually get you high PR links, unless the topic is something controversial on a frequented forum. What this will get you is quantity. You can easily get 1000 posts, which will improve your pr. Do not spam, though, as that'll lead to your posts being deleted.3: Sign guestbooks. You can search google for something like "site:a-free-guestbook.com" or other guestbook sites to find many. Post something like "I really enjoyed the site. " and write your url in. This'll give you a bunch of PR2 links.4: Comment in blogs. Again, search google for "site:blogspot.com keyword" to find blogs relating to your keyword. Comment in them, don't spam, comment, and leave a link to your site. Be careful and write good comments, as many high pr blogs have the 'must accept comments' feature on.5: Find your keyword's page on wikipedia and add some quality information, with a link to your site. Be sure to add good information, and that your link does not stand out and does not stand out in the least as commercial.6: Find wiki's on your keyword, and add quality information with a link to your site. Please don't spam, actually add content.7: Write articles and submit them, with your link in the resources box. If the article is good, it can be used by publishers, which means even more links. I recommend searching google for a submission service.8: Trade links with related sites. Three way trades are preferrable, three way links are when Site A links to Site B, Site B links to Site C and Site C links to Site A9: Find out who is linking to your competitors and email them asking for a link exchange with your site. Preferably done after having PR 5 , to make sure they'll accept.10: Add some funny content and spread it in forums. This will start a rapid fire of links if successfull. That'll up your PR fast.All of this combined should raise your PR up by quite a bit. Remember: Spamming is bad, and will get your links REMOVED.
