Are You Stressed Out At Your Desk?
Chill out dudeā¦
Far too many of us have far too much stress. Work targets and pressures bring us close to tearing our hair out at times while school work and exams may make even the most laid back among us weep warm tears of distress. All this stress is not good for us at all as when we can't vent it, it builds up inside and manifests itself in more physical ways. Hair falling out and stress headaches are just the beginning as some even feel that stress can be a factor in some cancers.

So what can you do about it right now sitting at your desk?

Perspective

One of the ultimate ways to remove stress from your life is to see your life in perspective. By going online and learning about history, about nature and about astro-physics in particular, you will soon be able to picture yourself more as a tiny spec in the midst of a much wider picture that makes the due date for some report feel a lot less life or death as it may feel now. When you consider how much the things you are worried about matter in the world as a whole you will soon realise that there are more important things to worry about. Granted if you are an army general and you have to decide whether to go to war or something you should feel stressed but for the average person, the stress you feel is surely never worth it.

Spirituality

Some people find that by adopting a more spiritual approach to life they can relieve themselves of a lot of stress. Spirituality can mean different things to different people. Some might run off and live in the mountains and take up Buddhism whereas you may prefer just to buy some aromatherapy candles, a relaxation CD and some Chakra jewellery, and sit in a long hot bath meditating with some aromatherapy candles to help you. Whatever works for you to clear your mind and turn off at the end of the day will help your stress levels reduce.

Organisation

A more practical approach to dealing with your stress may just require you to get more organised. Get your work prioritised and deal with one thing at a time. Ask for help if you need it and make sure you give yourself enough breaks and time off. Deal with your personal life by assessing what you enjoy and what you don't and try to do as much of what makes you happy as possible to counteract your stress. No job is worth forfeiting your life over. Work to live, don't live to work!
