Restoring Exterior Wood or Plaster Ornamentation

Using fire to restore your valuables

by Russell Hall Epstein

To Restore Ornate Wood or Plaster,

You will need small portable propane tank, leather gloves and what is called a "five in one". Quickly the trick is to do a small section at one time and slowly buffer the lowest area in any design, if nothing is happening you need to apply more heat, if too much is happening back off and go slower...every area will require more or less heat, but once you can see with your eyes that the last layer of paint is backing off the orginal surface take your five and one and with either end help the layer off, at times you will have to reapply more heat and stop after removing the one deep area, then repeat at each deep area...practice.
