As you already know, there is large number of suppliers of medical imaging parts available to choose between. The question is, how do you choose which medical imaging part supplier to use?
Inventory � The most important thing to remember is that whatever medical imaging parts supplier you choose to work with must carry replacement parts for the equipment you maintain. The majority of distributors have on-line inventories that allow you determine which suppliers meet most of your medical imaging parts needs.
Cost � Cost is not a straightforward issue. If you search for the smallest cost, you may end up with bad quality medical imaging parts. Still, you definitely do not want to have your budget suffer by paying premium prices. Answer these two questions before making a decision. Shipping � S&H costs are sometimes the veiled high cost element of the purchase price. Make sure you understand all S&H costs ahead of time. Furthermore, can the company absolutely, positively get you a medical imaging part overnight?
Customer service � Will the company work with you to solve any problems, whatever they may be? Is customer service available 24/7? Are there BMETs available to assist you in troubleshooting medical imaging parts issues if necessary?
Use this checklist to evaluate vendors. Select 2-3 vendors that you can rely on. Don't depend solely on one vendor; remember the "all my eggs in one basket" rule.
