The conveyor is a general term that includes several categories of different machines, which are mostly used to transfer goods from one place to another. Such a machine is mostly used in industrial processes because it makes work easier and very efficient in these places.

Although some people may be worried that the advancement of mechanised systems kills jobs, the utility of conveyors has delivered numerous disadvantages. Ultimately, its positive impact often outweighs the negatives.

As much as conveyors have all these positive attributes, they also have a negative side. Often, some workers might lose their jobs, since the conveying system would require fewer personnel to do the work of a large number of manual labourers.

Also, just like any other man made contraption, such conveying systems are still prone to accidents or malfunctions. In such instances when accidents interrupt the flow of work, major operations might be stalled; hence, affecting productivity of huge industrial operations. To avoid this, or at least reduce the instances of breakdowns, only the highest quality systems must be installed. If something does happen, only qualified personnel should be enlisted to correct any problems.

Ultimately, conveyors are very useful machinery, especially to company owners and individuals with large organizations. Large scale production of virtually every product on the market has been made possible by the use of conveyors. These include food items, clothing, medicinal drugs, electronics (including smart phones, television sets, refrigerators, cookers and computers), toys, books and newspapers.

Moreover, even more sophisticated and complex conveying systems are being developed, to cater to new product innovations. There exist a wide variety of highly customized systems that are made to specifically suit the exact type of products being conveyed. Some products may be extremely small and require very sensitive systems, while others may be particularly heavy and need very strong systems.
