Finding Corporate Gift Baskets Is Harder Than I Had Believed In My Wildest Dreams
I was pleased when I heard that my boss was going to have a baby because that signified that I wouldn't have her looking over my head all the time, but then, I got the word that it was my job to get her a corporate gift basket before her maternity leave. It sounds dumb, but I had never needed to buy a gift basket for any reason in my life up to that point. Aside from my own difficulties, my boss has never been happy with any of the gifts we've given her. Each time she receives a gift that she does not desire, it immediately goes in the trash.
I started by going to a flower shop during my lunch break and getting a few prices, but when I got back to the office, my coworker Gladys told me that our boss was not partial to flowers. I'll acknowledge that I was bummed and had no idea how to proceed. Finally, I went to a candy store to see what kind of gift baskets they had, but all they had were baskets loaded with cheesy, gimmicky junk.
I could tell right away that this option would not pan out in any way. My demeanor did not improve after these experiences as I am not overly fond of spending time with surly teen store workers or long drives in city traffic. I was all set to call it quits and inform the rest of my work team that we should abandon the idea to give the boss a gift basket.
Her last day of work before her maternity leave was fast approaching and in a final fit of desperation, I took the problem to my wife. She nicely suggested that I might search online for a solution. She said that a gourmet gift basket had been given to someone at work and that it had been very well received by the friend.
I should know better than to ever doubt my wife's wisdom as she always presents an ideal solution. Once I had done some research, I looked up a decent website and made an order for a corporate gift basket that I hoped would make my boss happy. I'll admit that I was nervous when the time came to present the gift basket to my boss, but as it turns out, she loved it. Everyone was certain that I had done a wonderful job and I got some very enthusiastic high-fives from everyone else in my section. The most important thought to take away from this is to pay attention to your wife.
