In a globalized high competitive world thousands of companies are struggling to offer the best service in the TV broadcasting area, these divide in two: Satellite TV and Cable TV. When satellite tv was first introduced to the market it completely annihilated cable tv competition, so the cable companies had to come up with a competitive service, which they did: Digital Cable.</p> <br>Now the question is, which of the two offer a better service for the money the subscribers are paying for? To analyze this in depth we must take a look at the core of the services: the infrastructure. This is where cable starts to loose competitive ground, cable uses miles of wiring to provide its service, not only is this way more expensive for the cable companies but also it presents geographical location issues, if the cable doesn't have access to a specific area, the service cannot be provided.</p><br>On the other hand, the satellite tv service uses close to no infrastructure, since the signal is broadcasted from space to satellite dishes, first of all it is cheaper for the company and has a much wider coverage, in other words satellite companies can basically provide their service all over the globe, even on an isolated island where cable tv companies can't even dream of ever reaching to. Not to mention, another advantage the satellite tv companies have is that they barely pay any taxes meanwhile the cable companies have to pay a lot for their infrastructure.</p><br>As for the service itself, now a days with the launch of digital cable, the service provided by both types of companies is practically the same, the only differentiation is the exclusive rights some companies posses, such as NFL network live broadcasting which, for example, Direct TV has and many cable companies do not. The price range due to the heated competition from both parts varies depending on the geographic and demographic characteristics of the location, but in the end it comes down to the same, a monthly fee of approximately 40 to 90 USD.</p><br>Nonetheless what most people care about is the quantity and quality of the channels provided which goes for around 250 channels extended services (HBO, Movie City, Pay Per View, TiVo among others) for BOTH cable and satellite VS the actual cost of the service. But due to the cheaper costs satellite companies have they can usually provide a better price for their packages and excellent costumer support. So in the end satellite tv is probably a better option. The only advantage of cable over satellite would be the high speed STABLE internet connections that they can provide in some specific areas, but that is a completely different subject since that is not the actual purpose of the service.</p><br>However, what if I told you, a new service has emerged that will completely revolutionize the TV broadcasting service and it is actually doing so as you read this. The internet strikes again and people have devised a tuning system which is actually completely legal and you can get 2000-4000 CHANNELS </b>directly to your PC, including the major tv networks, if you don't like watching TV in your PC, just hook it up to your TV set.
