People Are Still Internet Stupid!

Internet has been around for over 10 years and still people don’t understand the concept. When I asked a few people about internet radio many never had listened before. Some thought it was a step down from AM, FM and satelite. Amazingly its more like AM and FM radio is a step down from the internet. It’s new technology they say, it’s still in its infancy stages please! I know I would never want to put my laptop in a diaper let alone my old computer. Wake Up! Get Real! Internet radio is the new way of doing things that why people are able to keep their sanity while working at their boring jobs. Traditional AM Radio has been in existence for over 100 years it’s so old that some people don’t even use it anymore and plenty of the so call “New Generation” certainly have no clue. People are afraid to face that traditional radio is going out and internet radio is coming in. Either move over and embrace as a part of what your doing or get buried and after over 100 years of life thats not such a bad idea. AM is tired FM is going to have to get with the program soon weather they want to or not rumor has it that the FCC is going to make everyone go digital anyway!

There are still many who have never used the internet or don’t even have a computer which happens but, there is always the library. You will be surprised what you can find, you may be able to find one of those AM shows from th 40's that you used to loved when you were young doing a little typing on the search bar in your favorite search engine. It’s not to hard just a little typing and a raise of a hand in the library, school college or asking your grand kids trust me they’ll be glad to show you what to do!

The people that I am referring to as internet stupid are not the ones who have no computer knowledge or don’t have a computer they are the idiots who talk about AM & FM and satellite radio as if it’s the only respected medium for the media and the only way to find out news.I talking about the idiots who can’t live withour the internet to read their horoscopes or to check the stock market online (ha,ha, ha) but talk about the internet as if it’s a two bit-whore nothing! You know the close minded idiots who brag about having satellite in thier new range rover but, don’t even know that internet can be played in cars through the new internet car devices duh! You know the real corporate guys who seem “real clean” and go to have “secret fun” in Vegas on the weekends while at the office they look at the internet as a toy to view porn behind close doors and download podcast from the internet but won’t do it themselves. It’s so hilarious they can’t live without checking their emails, and read the news from their Motorola Q’s, MDA’S, Treo’s and Blackberry’s when they don’t feel like reading the paper but think AM & FM are the “only” way to go(even thought they are on it every waking moment of the day on thie mobile, laptop or desktop computer.) And there are always the ones who refuse to use it because they feel they don’t need it. You know the idiots who think the internet is just for kids and that think that myspace, youtube and google are nothing but a waste of time instead of thinking of as an extension and new respectable member to media and way for them to provide national syndication to their radio show hosts. But, I guess its too simple of a concept to grasp.

I remember having a conversation about internet radio with a FM radio show host who bragged about how they were syndicated in 20 states I asked her if she ever thought of broadcasting her show on the internet and she said I can’t broadcast on “Only Internet!” I am trying to get syndicated in 30 more states. I said Oh....as I tried to hold in my laugh as I thought to myself hmmm...why on earth would someone want to give themself more work!. Syndicating is the old way of doing things although it may have some benefits of being known in a small town or big city and only the people there know of you and risk never ever was heard by someone in Chicago when you are in California. What a shame it would be to be heard by the whole world on the internet and maybe become a self made celebrity like some have.

I almost forgot donmiss it when I’m drive to the desert you hear the lovely sound of annoying mother saying extended shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... change the channel shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... change the channel shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Awwww I just love that sound nothing like hearing nothing on the airwaves whiles I looking for some music so I don’t fall a sleep while driving. Oh how can we forget the sweet humming and buzzing of AM radio buzzz ewywraw buzzz hisss and other strange sounds lol I still listen to the radio even though now days there is a lack of good radio with all of the corporate BS that no one wants to really hear. The play list that everybody and their uncles grandpa plays do I really need to go on?.Radio used to be fun and exciting DJ’s were able to show their personalities and state their opinions and views without a mallet hanging over there head to be hit with because of fear of being said give me a break ! Its time for radio to return to the way it used to be fun exciting and interesting with personalities who were funny and played music. You know maybe that song that you listen to at your house that all the fans love but you never would hear on radio. That is why the internet is the way to go. You see you go on the internet and listen to you favorite show from anywhere in the world. On the internet radio jocks personalities, DJ’s Etc. can actually show their creativity, personality, style and goodness sakes play something other than the same rap artist, whiny alterative rock songs, country boyfriend car keying, repetitive r&B chants and thrash music everyday single day every 5 minutes the same damn song and when you change the channel you hear again and then again oh my god there billions of people and billions of songs can’t they play anything else!

Ok , my point is people tend to think of internet radio as this hand me down technology but, they forget about the fact that many people have them in their homes, work, schools, phones, video games, and “Only” almost everything electronic today! Must I actually mention the fact that internet is everywhere you go, that people check their emails almost everyday. People go to visit their favorite websites on line to read the news, listen to music and so much more but when you ask someone if they thought of being on internet radio they say oh that only just internet. Oh my god, are people really that totally stupid or just slightly ignorant to the fact that the whole damn world is connected through a phone line or wireless device! My, my, my, and they talk about people not picking up books. Little do people know that the internet is the fastest way to get recognized, popular, and maybe even famous! For example the group that made that song something about “ Ok let’s go or whatever it was called. anyway... they actually got a record deal and also got to be on one of the music awards shows because of the internet. Lots of people have gotten nationally publicity and know from just being on the internet .Why people still look at the internet as if its amateur is totally beyond me! There is a reason why companies like google and You Tube got know quickly and ended up being sold for millions and billions of dollars maybe because people never use the internet lol! (That stands for Laugh Out Loud! for you internet ignorant people out there.) When are people going to start to use their brains for what its for, to think?

I still have a hard time with people who say stupid things like I want to be nationally syndicated or that they don’t want to be on just the internet when with the click of a mouse they can be sent to anyone’s email list (some have thousands or millions on their email list!) or posted on several site with a press release just because someone thinks they are cool, hot or stupid. There is nothing wrong with not knowing anything about the internet as long as your willing to learn! There are lots of tools out there for people who are not internet savvy for example right now people are really into podcasting,ipods,mp3 player and you know the fruffy electronical devices that people are so very scared of. Today anyone who wants to do a show can do if they can ask thier children how to turn on the computer. They just need a microphone and some software ok I know I’m getting way to technical. Even with some of my sarcasm I am really trying to help!

I actually found a company that makes internet broadcasting or podcasting easy. You see there are lots of places to upload your podcast to promote yourself and lots of software out there to record your show some of it is free some of it is not but either way without a little bit of know how even with user friendly software it can still be frustrating and disappointing when you want to do it now! I found a company call All Talk Radio Network www.alltalkradio.net All Talk Radio actually makes it easy for people (including someone who is not familiar with the crazy internet) to broadcast their own radio show or podcast “LIVE”But the coolest part about them is you can broadcast your show from anywhere in the world by calling into their phone lines or you can go to their live studios in Las Vegas and broadcast your show live to the rest of the world in person. They give you radio air-time, an archiving web page which you can edit and a way to make money through google on your page along with phone lines for your fans or guests to call in on. All Talk Radio has been in business since 2003 and has a “Real Radio Station”that you can bring guests and celebrities to. They are certainly changing the way people view the internet. They have several shows with a wide range of topics from Coffee With Caryll and Hockey Blue Line to Growing Your Business to On Your Mind. All Talk Radio offers radio air-time to anyone who has a radio show, podcast or just an idea and wants to talk. Although an air-time fee apply’s its certainly worth investing in it. It’s a way for you to have your own business because you can get sponsor and advertiser for your show! This a great way to get some exposure if you know what I mean! Some of their radio stars have gotten lots of write ups on the internet and local and national print magazine, books and much more one of their show actually went to the White House. Even if you have a radio show or podcast now you can get even more exposure for you show or podcast by getting some time from them. They Rock! Even though I will probably ever understand why people are so prejudice against the internet and scared of its proven success and ability to spread news and media like wild flowers. Maybe one day the internet fairies will knock them upside of the head and they will wake the hell up! It still kills me these people are so quick to IM some stranger online and have naughty talk with a guy online pretending and posing to be a girl(lol). The next time someone you know says that internet is for kids, its up and coming, a waste of time or “Only Internet! Ask them is if they have an email address or website and then say if they say no, get them web tv for a present and if they say yes ask them if internet is nothing and everybody has it including you than why do YOU have a website if it’s ONLY internet ? Hmmm.... Something to think about! I definitely recommend to anyone who has a podcast, radio show, internet broadcast or want to have one and wants to really show their personality and creativity to give www.alltalkradio.net a shot. At least you won’t have to follow someone else’s format or play someone’s paid for play list. I hope you learned a little about internet radio until next time.
