How Big Should Your Dumpster Rental Be?

by Jason Lom

You might be awed by the various sizes of the dumpsters that you will find these days. There are a lot of various dumpster rental options that you can choose from which includes those ones that are actually tens of feet in their length. Make sure to check on some points when trying to figure out how large your rental should be.

First, you should be aware of a few set standards that come with most of today's dumpster rental options. A typical dumpster will be about eight feet wide and three to seven feet high. These sizes come particularly because it's easy for a truck to transport a dumpster that's as large as that. A dumpster can't be more than eight feet wide or else it would be difficult to transport it on a road without creating a wide load warning.

The length of your dumpster is the key part of figuring out what you want to get. A dumpster can be about ten feet or three yards long in its smallest form. This is typically useful for small home needs or for a project where you only need to use it for about a day.

Meanwhile, there are also some larger dumpsters that can be used including twenty foot dumpsters. These are larger dumpsters that tend to be good for remodeling projects. These include roof replacement and remodeling projects.

The largest dumpster rentals should be reserved for larger remodeling or demolition projects. These include dumpsters that can be close to thirty or forty feet in length. These can be large enough to handle large items that have to be moved out of a place. These include old wall materials, massive brick deposits and even large pieces of land that have to be excavated during the remodeling or construction process.

There's also the need to consider where you're going to place your dumpster in. You might be able to get your dumpster in a place like a large alley or the side of a street. You should have enough space in your local area to actually get your dumpster stored properly. It should also be placed in a spot where it won't obstruct traffic or other normal functions in an area. You need to check your local area to see if you can actually get a certain dumpster in that spot.

The final tip is to see how long you plan on using your dumpster for. Sometimes you might have to get a larger dumpster if you plan on using this for about a week or so. That's because you might have a need to get more waste out over an extended period of time. You have to factor this time into your rental so you'll have something that will not get to its full capacity real early during the rental process.

You should be aware of what you plan on doing before you get your dumpster rental. Think about what you will be doing on your property and how long you'll need to get that dumpster for. You have to make sure you get a good amount of space in your dumpster and that it relates closely to what you are going to use that dumpster for.
