Wooden blinds have been around for the longest of the commercially made blinds. The horizontal wooden blinds are the most popular. Horizontal wooden blinds have slats that tilt in the window opening and you can also raise and lower the blind.
Prices of wooden blinds have dropped dramatically over the last few years because of the re- growth of North American forests. This makes them very eco friendly. Wooden blinds come in many slat sizes including the popular 2” slat, the 1” slat for smaller openings, the 3” slat and the new 1 3/8” slat.
Advantages of wooden blinds are the hundreds of stained colors; price, durability and they are very light. Disadvantages are that the slats are not perfectly straight due to being a natural product and the tendency to warp over time.
