Personal Thoughts On Blogging

by Mark

It seems that contributing to the online Blogging scene has almost become a necessity of online life in recent years. What started as daily diaries posted online for the whole world to see has now become an extra tool for those specialising in search engine optimisation, as blogs often contain good relevant content that certain search engines like.It was only a matter of time before I also joined the blogging scene, with a daily talk about breakdown cover, a website I own. Every day I would and go and sit down to think of something new to say, that would intrigue my web visitors to keep them coming back for more. Such an easy task I thought, write a few personal words about a subject close to my heart, get loads of readers and return visitors. That was the theory anyway. The reality has been just a bit different with a confused webmaster looking at a blank screen, wondering just what do I write today? My heart is telling me that this blog is not really what I want to do. I don't have so many different ways of writing about the same thing whizzing around in my mind every day. My final conclusion to my blogging is this, I only do it because search engines like it and search engines are king if you want visitors to your site. My breakdown cover blog not only has days missing from its listings but weeks and even months in some cases, because I just can't be inspired to write about a car insurance policy. I can' even say that when I do write a my writing is of any quality.Eventually I decided to read other people blogs to get inspiration, what is the quality of blogs out there and what subjects could I relate to? I found a few good quality information sources, but most of them contained irrelevant substandard content, that was written for themselves only or again just to add content to their websites. I am clearly a not alone. It is a shame that blogging is such an important tool for search engine optimisation, with many big sites actually employing professional bloggers. Without his tool, those who wish to share their ideas would have a far better chance of being found and their blogs read. I believe that only those who loved the process would spend he time and therefore the quality would be better and more readable. However I do not have much choice in the matter and every few days, weeks and on the days when my brain cells get in gear I find something to contribute to my site.Of course, there those who know how to blog and do it very well. If you enjoy search engine optimisation visiting Matt Cutts blog is an essential part of your week. He is someone who works within a large search engine company and shares his thoughts with webmasters out there. There are now many Blogging sites too, that allow those who do not own a website to have their blog section. I find it difficult though to find good content though, having to check out several blogs before finding anything that interests me.
