Write Articles In Under 10 Minutes
In order to write these articles in under 10 minutes, you don’t need to have any special skills (besides the ability to write in a grammatically correct way) – although a great writer can definitely make the articles shine.
You’re not going to have to write super-exciting content or anything like that… just educational content that helps people learn.
Some people worry, “What if I write about what’s already online? What about if people can easily find it?” To that, we say, it’s OK! That doesn’t matter. Most web users aren’t going to search through multiple pages, so if you can give them the answers – basic as they may be – in your article – that’s all we ask for – not any Nobel Peace Prize quality research. ;)
The articles that people request are informational, provide a solution, and are unique to the degree that they don’t look like other articles.
The reason for this is because a lot of people use these articles to rank high on the search engines. To explain further, if a client is a baker in San Diego, the client would want to show on the top 10 search results of Google when someone types in “San Diego baker”. To do this, he needs a lot of unique content on his website.
If an article looks too much like an article that’s already out there, then Google will penalize the client for plagiarizing, and may actually punish him and purposely take away his rankings.
It is for that reason that all articles need to be checked through copyscape.com before submitting them. If they come up as duplicates, they need to be tweaked until they come up as original.
This is obviously premature since you haven’t learned how to write articles yet, but we try to stress that as much as possible.
BYTDL strongly opposes plagiarism and we highly encourage all providers to avoid doing so :)
How to Research
All articles are written to give a basic education of whatever the client requests, and will go through 3 basic phases – research, writing, and proofing.
It is entirely possible to take only ONE minute for research (which generally takes a big chunk of time), and then leave the rest of the time for writing and proofing. If you’re a fast typist, you could eventually get to the point where you’re finishing articles in 5-7 minutes.
The reason research is so quick is because 9 times out of 10, you can find a similar article on one of 3 different sources. Those sources are:
1. Ezinearticles.com
2. Wikipedia.com
3. Google.com
For an example, let’s say that your article is on baking tips. First, head over to EzineArticles.com. As you’re looking around there, you want to find 3 different articles that seem the most relevant to what you’re writing about – in this case, baking tips. The best types of articles for this are going to be educational, and probably will continue a “How To” in the title, or a “7 Things You Need To Know…”, or something that indicates there will be quick facts in the article.
As you’re doing this, you want to find 3 articles that seem the most relevant. This is because each article you write will generally have 3 main points. That is because the basic article structure will go as such:
Introduction
Main Point 1
Sub point 1
Sub point 2
Sub point 3
Main Point 2
Sub point 1
Sub point 2
Sub point 3
Main Point 3
Sub point 1
Sub point 2
Sub point 3
…and so each time you find an article on EZA, you’re looking it at each article as content for one of your main points. It might take you a few tries to get very fast at this, but practice does make perfect, and you’ll soon be a natural at finding the meatiest possible articles. If you can’t find 3 articles from within EZA, then head over to Wikipedia. If you can’t find anything there, head to Google. 9 times out of 10, EzineArticles will have what you need.
Writing The Article
Before beginning, please ensure that your 3 pages from Phase 1 are up and ready to go.
You’ll want to identify your 3 main points at this time, as well as the 3 main sub-topics. We’re aiming for 500 words or more per article – around 100 words for the intro, 100 or more for main points 1, 2, and 3, and around 100 words for the conclusion. When writing the articles, you want to aim for writing without stopping. This will probably not be natural for you and it may take some practice, but you’ll eventually become really good at it.
If you type at 65 words per minute and are aiming for 500 words in these sections, that should take you less than 8 minutes. Because so many people are used to computers now, you may be able to type even faster than that.
If you own voice recognition software, you may also want to consider using that. Voice recognition software can help you type out articles at over 150 words per minute, with 90% accuracy or better. The only downside to the voice software is that since there are generally more dictation mistakes, you will have to take some of the time you would have spent typing on proofreading. Either way, you don’t need the voice recognition software – it’s just something to consider if you already own it. To break down the article: Introduction – In this section, you want to start with an opening sentence. The “If/then” statement is my favorite to use, as it helps qualify people into the article. An “If/then” statement would be, “If you are looking for top-notch baking tips for some of your favorite foods to bake, then this article was written just for you.”… or something to that degree.
You can open the article any way you like, but this is just generally a fail-proof “safe” methodology that doesn’t make you have to stop to think.
Next, in the introduction, sum up what the 3 main points in the article are going to be. It’ll read something like, “We’re going to go over several important things here. You will soon learn some amazing cookie baking tips, bread baking tips, and cake baking tips.”
Then, just tell the reader what will happen after reading the article – for example, “By the time you’re finished reading this article, you will be able to bake with much more confidence and ease.” For that section, you don’t need to go crazy – just give the reader a benefit of reading the article. To put everything together, we have: If you are looking for top-notch baking tips for some of your favorite foods to bake, then this article was written just for you. We’re going to go over several important things here. You will soon learn some amazing cookie baking tips, bread baking tips, and cake baking tips. By the time you’re finished reading this article, you will be able to bake with much more confidence and ease. Main Points – For each main point, you want to start off with a general statement about that point, and then a more specific statement about each of the sub-points. So for example, for my Main Point 1, I might say something like:
Whatever your cookie tastes, there are some universal baking tips that will help your cookies come out tasting amazing every time you bake them. Some things you need to consider are the quality of your pan, the cleanliness of your cookie sheet, and the space you leave between cookies.
Then, I’ll break that down even further.
As for the quality of your pan, it’s very important to use a shiny baking pan. These types of pans reflect heat better than dark pans, which help the cookies bake more gradually and uniformly. Because dark pans absorb heat, it causes the bottom of your cookies to cook faster than the rest of the heat, which can lead to uneven baking.
You also want to make sure you use a clean cookie sheet every time you bake. If you’re making multiple batches of cookies, it’s essential that you thoroughly clean your cookie sheet each time you make a new batch. If you don’t do this, the old residue can burn the next batch, or interfere with their flavor – both of which you don’t want. Cleaning also allows the pan to cool, which is important to making sure your cookies don’t overcook.
Make sure to leave space between your cookies, too. If cookie dough is too close together, the cookies may end up fusing together during the baking process. They will also take longer to bake and could possibly be underdone when taken out of the oven. That is actually DOUBLE the length of a regular main point – but it was easy to find a lot of information from one article, so we added it. You would then go through and create 2 more sections on your 2 other main points. You would just want to transition each section into the next. For example, you might say: “
The next thing to cover are bread baking tips.” “Next, we’re going to go over break baking tips.” “While that may seem eye-opening, bread baking tips are even more interesting.” You’ll eventually build yourself up a list of different “go-to” phrases you can use time and time again.
Conclusion – In this, you want to make a closing statement about your subject, sum up each of your 3 main points, and then make a wrap-up sentence.
An example would be: “Overall, it is very easy to bake some amazing creations once you know what you’re doing. As you can see, baking incredible cookies is just a matter of making sure you have the right equipment and setting the cookies up right. Making cake is a piece of cake too (no pun intended)! Again, it’s just a matter of using the right tools. For bread, once you take care of 3 simple things, you’re good to go. Although it may have been intimidating in the past, now that you’re armed with this information, you can go out and start creating some delectable treats.”
To close this section up - It very well may NOT take you less than 10 minutes the first time you write an article. However, and this can’t be stressed enough – with practice, you’ll be able to write significantly faster and significantly more efficiently. We recommend that you time yourself so you can see the results for yourself.
Proofing Your Articles
This section is pretty self-explanatory. You just want to go through your articles to make sure that they’re free of spelling errors and make grammatical sense.
When you’re done, head over to copyscape.com and make sure that your article does not come up as a duplicate. We can obviously only accept original articles If your articles comes up as a duplicate, simply tweak it until it comes up as original.
When you’re done with all of this, you will see that it was relatively quick - and with more and more practice, you’ll get your articles written in under 10 minutes!
