Press Release Marketing
There are many forms of Internet Marketing, very few are as popular and as close to 'offline marketing' as a good Old Press Release. Press Releases are becoming more and more popular with such sites as PRWeb allowing people to submit Press Releases to many sources completely free. They are a great way to get a business or a website out there into the faces of those who are likely to benefit from knowing about them, and with the webmaster in-turn benefiting from the release. The benefits of a Press Release are clear to all but there’s always the issue of people not knowing where to start writing one, or even how they are constructed, grouped with the Marketing of Press Releases which can be a task within its self i.e. getting the most from the information you have to put out there. The benefits of a Press Release (PR) really lie in the fact that they are an effective marketing tool, and can work well as an SEO strategy for people trying to build more backlinks to their websites. The right PR can drive a lot of traffic to a website which is targeted to the right audience, this can result in people talking about the article and linking to it, providing more value to your website and more value is put on the advantages of the PR in the first place. What’s Important to remember when writing a press release is that a poorly constructed or poorly written press release is going to be a waste of time for you and your business, and also has the adverse affect of implying a negative image of you and your company. It’s also important to remember that Press Releases have to have a reason to be written, they aren’t the same as articles and people must realize that, that’s why its important to look at what you want to accomplish from your PR. Knowing what you are wanting to get across in your PR is one of the biggest steps in getting it out there and reaping the benefits, for writing the press release you can either hire a professional copywriter to do it or you could do it yourself, its always good to learn but certainly not worth the effort if you know writing isn’t your key point. The content must be compelling and must make readers want to read it all, then finally distribute it among their network. If your going to write the main body of the PR yourself, at least make sure you get somebody to look at the headline, as without a shadow of a doubt this is the most important aspect of the PR, along with the opening paragraph, a poor title and opening can limit the effectiveness of the Press Release from the off. Now that we have the press release ready, its time to think about the Marketing in general. You can submit your press release free via sites such as PRWeb and PRLeap, but these also incorporate paid options where you can pay a variable fee and the press release will be distributed along more channels, paid PR's tend to be picked up by the news services of the Major Search Engine's so its definitely something to think about. With some free releases you may also want to note that no links are available in the text, so if you submit one with a link it simply won’t be distributed. If your aim is to generate more links to a site virally and via the Press Release itself then again this is something you need to think about. Its worth spending time over a press release, for the extra time and cost benefit of making it perfect, the ROI can be incredible.
