Some people would really spend more for their weddings. The common reason is that this very special event only happens once in a lifetime. You can conceptualize a blissful wedding without the fuss and of course the greens. Spend less, save more. A smarter way to start a refreshing new chapter of your life is to live with the one you love free from any financial worries. Here’s how:

1. Manage your guests

It will be very nice if you will invite all of your friends. However, to properly manage your budget, it is best that you stick with the closest friends and members of the family. If you invite more than what you can afford, chances are, you will be spending more than what you have planned.

Stick with people in your intimate circle. For those who wish to attend but you can no longer afford, it would be better if you will just tell them the truth about wedding budget woes. Explain to them that you are just planning a simple, small wedding.

2. Venue

Of course, hotels can be grand and elegant, but they can be very expensive too. For couples who wish to celebrate their wedding in a very special place, hotels don’t have to be on top priority. It is best that you choose places that are rather smaller than hotels but are definitely nice and cozy.

Keep in mind that all other expenses in your wedding will follow. Bigger venue would mean bigger and greater designs, more flowers to decorate the place, more chairs and tables to accommodate guests, etc.

3. Food

You can opt for buffet. In fact, it is considered the cheapest way to your guests’ stomach. Keep in mind that people attending weddings are not actually after extravagant menu. What matters most is how foods tasted.

4. Wedding attire

To save more money or to avoid spending more on your wedding, try to focus on the groom’s and bride’s gowns. You may skip ordering gowns for the sponsors, with matching design from the bride’s gown.

You can also opt for handed down buys. Second hand items are a lot cheaper than made-to-order gowns.

Also, it is best that you use less beads and details on the gown. Numbers can really play a great part in keeping these elements at the minimum.

5. Trinkets

To play up a simple, low-budget gown, you can opt for trinkets or ornaments such as jewelleries. These things enhance a woman’s overall appearance.

For a more elegant look, try using a set of pearl wedding jewelleries. Pearls need not be very expensive unless they are natural and rare. Most women are already wearing or using cultured and fancy pearls. Although, most people still prefer the natural pearl, cultured ones are becoming popular because of the price and the simplicity of creating these items.

And lastly, after the wedding, it is best to stay at home instead of going to luxurious trips for honeymoon. Remember, wedding marks the start of your life together. It is but natural to maintain finances while you can to keep marriage at the maximum. Luxurious trips can be exciting and full of fun, but if you cannot afford it, you don’t have to push yourself to the limits and earn a hefty amount of debt.
