Leave Massive Albums Behind

by Debbie Luker

A a great way to celebrate a special occasion is with a mini album. A mini album is about 6x6 or 8x8. It generally only contains a certain event or theme. The layouts are generally all the same and use minimal embellishments. It's enjoyable to make mini albums since you can complete a whole album in a couple of hours. You receive that feeling of accomplishment. With the larger albums, I commonly have a large pile of photos that seem to be neverending. But when I create a mini album, I know an end is in sight!

Mini albums don't have to be albums. They can be tags, matchstick cases, or cd holders. An album can be just about anything. For example a school themed mini album could be made from pencil shaped paper adhered together. I love creating theme albums. Simply combine different pictures to create an album. It could be your favorite pictures, animal pictures, or anything you might have.

An example that I do every year is a layout for both of my children. I write descriptive words of their personalities, their favorite foods and their favorite things to do, words they say, and a silly story about them. In addition to that I include pictures of them throughout the year so that you can see their growth. It is simple and quick not to mention a ton of fun! Mini albums are a great thing. I recommend that you create one this week end!
