What Are The Computer's Basic Parts Required For Any Computer To Run Correctly?
Do you currently have or do you plan to buy your own computer soon? For any person that has one or will soon purchase one, you need to find out about what the computer's basic parts are.
Knowing what the parts are will help you better understand why they are so important for a computer to run correctly. This will help you utilize your computer more efficiently.
All computers come in different sizes, brands, shapes, specification and costs, but there is one thing that any type of computer has in common, they all have an operating system.
No computer anywhere can run without an operating system because this is the brains of the computer. There are a few operating system options available with Windows being the most common and popular.
The other two systems include the Linux operating system and the Macs, for Apple computers.
Another thing that all computers have in common is that they all contain five main components for running effectively. These five components are as follows:
1. Input device - This is used for entering data into the computer utilizing a scanner, light pen or keyboard.
2. Output devices - You utilize this to help you redirect the processed date to the device that is connected to your computer's output connection. The output devices include a computer monitor and the printer.
3. CPU or central processing unit - This is where the computer processes data and coordinates what you need it to do among the various components of the computer.
4. Computer memory - Here is the area where all of the data you store on a computer is placed. There are two types for memory, RAM or the random access memory and the read only memory or ROM.
The RAM is where temporary information is stored. Any information stored here is lost when you shut down your computer.
The ROM is the built in information that is utilized by the components of the computer. This is done for you by the people that built the computer so that your ROM will run efficiently from the first time that you get on it.
5. Hard disk computer storage - This is where you will store any data permanently onto your computer. It will stay stored wherever you put it, even when the computer has been shut off.
Now, in order for any computer to function correctly it has to have all five of these elements. Without them your computer will be useless and now that you understand the computer's basic parts you can better understand your computer and how it works to help make your life a little bit easier.
