Create a Successful Cookie Dough Fundraiser

If you've lived for any amount of time on this planet the chances are good that you have run into a fundraising event at some point. Perhaps you were walking through the hallways of a school, and spotted a small table with wares for sale. Or maybe the entrance to your local grocery store had someone with something to entice shoppers with.

Many different causes, not just schools, are always looking to get extra money in order to accomplish their ambitions. A sports team may need new uniforms, or a church could have a list of things that must be repaired, but could not be tackled previously due to a tight, unforgiving budget. New computers or other educational supplies could be long overdue at a school. The reasons are endless and varied, and emphasize just why a fundraiser is so important.

In fact many schools, organizations, sports teams and clubs spend a good deal of time raising funds just to keep themselves operational. On the other hand some organizations consider fund raising one of the primary reasons for their existence. Service clubs are a good example. A typical service club will have three or four major fund raisers every year on top of ongoing fundraising activities and special fundraising events. Their goal is to raise money so they can donate it to worthwhile causes in their community.

One of the most popular items to sell for raising funds is cookies. And why not? Cookies are available in many varieties, they are easy to store and transport, they are relatively inexpensive, and just about everyone loves cookies. An interesting twist on the traditional box of cookies is frozen cookie dough. This has even more appeal for many people because they don't have to eat the cookies right away. They can just store the cookie dough in the freezer and use it to make tasty hot cookies when they get the urge.

If you would like to build more variety into your fundraising you can include other tasty treats like brownies, cinnamon coffee cake and even pretzels. Having a limited variety of products gives potential buyers a number of tempting options. But it also keeps the entire program simple and easy to administer. In fact most parents prefer fundraisers that don't involve sifting through catalogs of products. With a few attractive and appealing frozen food items your program is virtually guaranteed to be a smashing success.

In the end it doesn't matter why your organization needs money. What fundraising boils down to is your ability to find something that will successfully attract donations. Do the best you can for your school fundraiser, and get those kids their field trip, gym equipment or new schoolbooks. They will thank you, and that marvelous feeling will stay with you for a long time.
