What is EB-5?
The EB-5 program is one of the best ways to achieve permanent residence in the United States.
The EB-5, also called the investor visa in the United States, is one of the few visas that can lead to citizenship. Holders of the EB-5 visa can permanently live and work in the United States with their spouse and unmarried children under 21 years. Through a business that generates at least 10 new jobs in the United States, the qualified investor gets permanent residence and opens the door to US citizenship. India is a new market for EB-5, and the program is still unknown to most Indians. However, the number of applications is increasing annually; it represents an opportunity to relocate families safely. Countries like China have received over 1,000 visas of this category each year and there is no reason for India not to receive at least half of it each year. The US government created the program in the 1990s in an effort to attract foreign investment and increase economic growth. It is operated by the Citizenship Service and US Immigration (USCIS). The qualified investors can invest USD 500,000.00 or USD 1,00,000.00 in a new or existing US business. The EB-5 investment amount needed depends on the location and type of business you chose. In general, capital investment is USD 1,00,000.00 to the quoted price of the current US market. The other requirement is that the business created (or increased) with the investment creates at least 10 jobs for American citizens for at least two years. And through the Regional Center Program, LCR Capital Partners provides investment that can help you meet these criteria. Want to know more about how to get an EB-5 based green card?
