Here are some of the severe side effects of Actos.

*Bladder Cancer After two years carcinogenic study done on rats, there were drug-induced tumors found in the urinary bladders of both male and female rats. Additionally, during the first five years of a study that followed-up the carcinogenic study, the researchers discovered that there was an increased chance of bladder cancer, to the patients who take pioglitazone for a long duration.

With this information, the FDA concluded that patients who are on the Actos medication for more than a year have a 40% risk of getting bladder cancer.
