Meet the nutritional needs of your puppy

At 6-8 weeks, the puppies are fully weaned and eating 4-5 meals a day. For the first few meals of your puppy, be sure to give him what he is accustomed. A sudden change of diet could lead to stomach problems. So, if you change the food your puppy, do it gradually over several days.

(If your dog has stomach problems due to stress caused by the adoption, give plain water to drink for a few meals, then a few meals that include a rice bowl, until that he is ready to consume a normal diet. If the vomiting or diarrhea continues, take him to the vet.)

As your puppy is very active and it grows, it needs twice as many calories as those contained in food for adults - all in one meal to the size of the puppy. The food also provides all the right nutrients in the right amount for his bones, joints and muscles grow. Smallmouth and your puppy may be unable to chew pieces or cookies designed for adults.

40 years of research has helped ensure that the products Pedigree include the right balance for a growing puppy, with the ideal ratio of protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. It is also easier to digest for young stomachs that food home.

With Pedigree, your puppy has a choice of boxes and croquettes. Regarding the croquettes, soften them with warm water for about 20 minutes before feeding him. And when your dog eats, make sure it has fresh water at all times.

If your puppy does not devour his food quickly, do not fool with rewards and do not suggest his food in your hand. This only reinforces bad habits. If he did not finish his food after 30 minutes, remove it and give it fresh food at the next meal. Your dog will quickly learn to eat what you give.
