by Saheli Kundu

A web design company is always innovative in using colors for creating styles, moods, and emotions. Colors could be also used as powerful tools by web designers. The shades possible are numerous and the combinations amazing. Creativity reaches an exemplary level with designers experimenting with patterns and shades.

The basics in colors

The possibility of experimenting with colors has increased immensely with new software tools and applications, which are easily available at highly competitive rates. To understand the working of a web development company a basic idea about colors is extremely helpful. There are three primary colors, blue, red, and yellow which when mixed two at a time produce secondary colors of purple, orange, and green. These secondary colors when combined together yield tertiary colors.

A web design company always uses the color wheel for reference and better usage of different colors for creation of designs. Shades placed opposite to each other in this wheel are termed ‘complimentary’ and those arranged side by side are called ‘analogous’. It is interesting to note that colors are also categorized according to the mood they evoke. For instance: green, purple and blue belong to the cool category; yellow, orange and red to the warm category; and brown and grey to neutral category. This categorization is used by a web development company for appropriate applications.

Color types in a design A web designer chooses between two systems for creating a design: RGB or CMYK. RGB representing red, green, and blue, is used for creating designs involving mixing of lights such as in computer monitors, television, or any other form of screen. CMYK denoting cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (i.e. black), is a technique of color mixing of pigments as used in prints. For web pages or web sites, designers use RGB method of color mixing.

A web design company in India makes extensive use of color mixing techniques to convey specific meanings. Creativity of a web designer is put to test in this color mixing process as it is not an easy task to convey emotions by use of these. Designers choose colors with a definite purpose in mind. For any web development company conveying a message through the use of colors is often a challenging task.

Usually for lending a corporate look for your web pages, a web design company would preferably use cool colors. Warm colors like red, is used to signify passion, energy, power and excitement. Orange, another warm color is used to represent exuberance, happiness, and cheerfulness.

Any web design company in India would use green to represent nature, health and harmony. Blue is a cool shade representing reliability and stability. Purple is used to signify luxury and sophistication. Black and white though not a part of a color wheel are used extensively by web page designers. Black is often used to represent elegance, power, and depth, while white is used to represent innocence and purity.

Commercial organizations and manufacturing houses in their websites use colors thoughtfully to convey a definite feeling to their respective target audiences. A web design company endeavors to express this emotion through their web pages.
