How To Write A Special Letter To My Child

With email and texting these days, a handwritten letter given to your child can be extra special. Take time to choose special stationary to write the letter on and write from your heart. Maybe you could write a special letter for every birthday or a special holiday. As they grow older, your child will cherish these letters from your heart even more. When I take the time to write a letter to my child, it seems to make them extremely happy and they can read what I have written to them over and over if they want to.

You might be wondering what to say to your child so first of all, you will definitely what to tell your child how much they mean to you. Though you may say that to them every day, the message comes across a little differently when the words are shared in writing.

One of the nicest things you can say is how much being a parent to them has been one of the greatest gifts in your life and that your love is unconditional. When writing a letter to your child, you might want to share what you have noticed about him or her recently such as what positive characteristics you see emerging. Maybe they have been extra helpful to those around them in need or maybe you can share that you feel they are maturing in a positive way because of how they are handling conflicts in their lives.

Another nice thing you can mention is what you enjoy doing together with them. Maybe the things you enjoy are playing games together, cooking, reading, going to the beach or park etc. The possibilities are endless. Your child will love to hear how proud you are of him or her. Describe what makes you proud of them such as worth ethic, various talents your child has for example. The words will bring much joy and encouragement to your child especially if times get troublesome in years ahead.

When writing a letter to your child share a few memories that have meant a lot to you personally. The events that you share will be more memorable than any single compliment. You might bring up memories of a shared vacation or school event, for an example. In addition, take the time to share your hopes and dreams for your child such as, your hopes for his or her talents, hopes for the friendships or hopes regarding their hopes and dreams. Writing a letter is a great way to share your confidence in their future as well and can really motivate them to strive for excellence.

Writing a letter to your child from the heart will make their world a little brighter for many years to come. I think its time I write a letter to my child again very soon.
