Windmill Kit: Which States Are Perfect For Wind Energy?

When you are considering the wind turbine kit it is essential that you position it so that you make the most electricity possible for your particular location. Some states are simply better than others for wind energy.

The states that are best for wind power run-up through the center of the country. Also, the states that lie on the coast are also good for power production.

For example the islands off the coast of Massachusetts can be excellent sources of wind power. Also, states like Texas and Colorado that are in the center of the country are excellent for power production as well.

So, why does it matter so much? Isn't there wind everywhere?

The reason it is so important is the wind can vary tremendously from state to state, as well as from one area of your property to another. Each individual location forms its own microclimate and has the potential to produce a very different amount of energy than a location that's only 10 feet away.

Another layer of complexity that is good to understand is the height of your wind turbine kit. If you locate your wind device on tower, say, 100 feet in the air, it could be radically different in terms of power production than a few located that same turbine 200 feet in the air. Actually, a difference of only 20 feet can make the turbine project a success or a failure.

The reason just a few feet and exact placement can make a lot of difference is the cube rule of power production. This means that a single mile-per-hour and wind speed difference will produce an order of magnitude greater amount of power - actually, the energy produced gets cubed relative to an increase in wind speed.

In some states that have a lot of wind offer, it is not that hypercritical that you place the wind turbine kit evice just the right spot. However, if you are trying to make wind energy in one of the other states that are not in the central part of the union, then you need to be a lot more careful about exactly where you place the turbine.

This can only be accurately analyzed with the help of a small electronic device called anemometer. This piece of equipment can be used to collect data about the wind and the particular location and then electronically display that in a spreadsheet format over time. Using this tool you can see exactly how much wind came by and at what speed. More importantly you can understand the patterns relative to other locations where you collected data and make a determination about which specific spot is can serve you best in terms of making the most power from the wind you have.

Summarizing - wind turbine kit technology is progressing at a rapid pace and especially in states where wind is the most dominant renewable asset.
